Thank you for reading our profile and considering us to parent your child! We understand that this must be a challenging time for you and we admire your courage as you explore adoption as an option for your unborn child.

We are a loving couple who has a deep rooted faith in God, a strong sense of ethics and a love of family, friends and fun. We have a young daughter who has given us the opportunity to see how much we love being parents and has fueled our burning desire to grow our family again, through adoption. If you choose to place your child with us, we can assure you that your child will be surrounded by love, laughter and many opportunities. We feel that supporting our children to fulfill their potential and realize their talents is one of our greatest responsibilities as parents and we assure you that we will do just that.

Tom is a college professor and Joanne is a Stay At Home Mom. Tom's teaching profession allows him flexible hours and time off in the summer so that he too, would spend a lot of time loving, nurturing, playing with and teaching your child. We live at the seashore so we spend a lot of time outdoors where your child would join us where we eat picnic lunches and build sand castles on the beach throughout the summer. We have introduced our daughter and many of our nieces and nephews to the ocean and look forward to holding your child's hands and jumping over waves as we yell "here comes another one!" In addition to our summer activities around the ocean, we would also take your child hiking and biking. When the winter weather arrives he / she would join us as we visit friends and family to go skiing, ice skating and sledding. Although we are hard working people, we feel playing and having fun are a very important part of living life to the fullest! We have so much fun playing with our daughter and our nieces and nephews and we can promise you lots of fun times for your child if you choose us to parent him / her.

We both graduated from college and Tom continued on to earn his Masters Degree in Educational Psychology. We believe that your child's education will be a very important part of his / her development and we intend to be very involved. We will volunteer at school and with any extra curricular activities that your child would like to pursue. Our ongoing involvement with your child will nurture our relationship and encourage naturally open and honest communication. Our home will always be open to your child and his / her friends where they will feel safe and comfortable. We will socialize with your child's friends and their families so that we know them and are comfortable that they share our family values.

If you choose us, your child will grow up with a big sister, who also was adopted as a newborn. As with our daughter, your child will always know his / her adoption story. He / she will know that you are a thoughtful birthparent(s) who made a selfless and difficult decision out of love. You can rest assured that we will send you pictures and letters so that you can see how happy and healthy your baby will be in our family. Your child will be reminded of you in our daily prayers and he or she will also know that we prayed for him / her and we believe that the miracle of adoption is that we are meant to be a family. Your child will be raised with love and encouragement to pursue his / her dreams and reach his / her full potential. He / she will be encouraged to try new things and learn from his / her experiences and not be afraid to fail.

If we are chosen, your child will be exposed to all types of sporting events, theater, museums and a great variety of music that is always playing in our house. We would encourage your child to pursue what ever it is that attracts his / her interest - whether that is playing sports or musical instruments or taking art classes.

Our daily living is strongly anchored by our faith in God. If you choose us to parent your child, he / she would join us as we say our daily prayers and attend church weekly. He / she will grow up with the peaceful knowledge of a loving God.
