Thank you for reading our letter and giving us the opportunity to tell you about ourselves. Words cannot describe our admiration for your bravery and selflessness. You are trying to provide the best possible home for your child- the most important task of any parent. We look forward to helping you through this difficult time in any way we can.

It is difficult to summarize the life we would provide for your child in one letter and some pictures but we will try. We met in chemistry class. We started out as lab partners and now, here we are, sixteen years later, life partners. Kurt still swears that Abigail is beautiful in lab goggles. We have known each other for sixteen years and we have been married for twelve of them. We are always in sync with one another. Our personalities compliment each other well. Together, our most important dream, has been to have a big family. Since the adoption of ours sons, Aidan and Erik, this dream has only become stronger. We have so much more love in our hearts to give to another child. Adoption has been a wonderful, positive experience for us and we look forward to having the opportunity to share our lives with your child.

Both of us are very close to our families and we spend a great deal of our free time with them. Growing up, Abigail spent a lot of time helping to raise her siblings. Abigail has enjoyed watching them grow up to be wonderful, caring adults. Kurt spent a great deal of time helping Abigail take care of them- going for pizza, doing homework, etc. Now that we have started a family of our own, our desire to bring new and unique personalities into the mix has only become greater. We are both so excited about having the opportunity to share our love with another child such as yours.

Our family enjoys traveling a lot. We go with Abigail's family to our vacation home on a lake in Vermont. We go swimming (when the water isn't freezing), boating and hiking. We also love to go to Block Island. It is a quiet, tranquil place with lots of activities for families. We enjoy hiking along the nature trails and biking along the beach roads. Aidan is obsessed with lighthouses and Kurt loves to collect the colorful buoys that wash up on the beach - our garage is filled with them.

We enjoy getting involved in our community so we belong to a church that is very involved with helping people. Kurt loves being a father. Aidan and Erik are his right hand guys when it comes to projects around the house. Kurt is an engineer and loves his job. Abigail is a stay at home mom. For the past 5 years, she has enjoyed every aspect of being a mom. We look forward to watching another child grow and discover new things each day.

If you had to describe our family, the first word that comes to mind is loving. We enjoy spending time together as a family as much as possible. We have a dog, Squiggy, who loves to go for walks and we try to always walk as a family. In the winter, Erik is snuggled in a front carrier and Aidan sits in a sled that we pull along and then we come in for hot chocolate. Aidan helps Kurt get wood for a fire or, if he is too cold, he helps Abigail with the family dinner. In the summer, we walk down to the beach and collect shells and let Squiggy run around.
