Dear Birth Parent(s),

Adoptive Family Jim & Suzanne

Hello! We are Suzanne and Jim and we are grateful and excited that you are interested in reading more about us. We want you to know that we completely admire the love, unselfishness and devotion that you are demonstrating by considering adoption.

Like you, we want only the best for this child. Your child will grow up knowing that he/she was so special to you that you put him/her first above all else. As you know, in life things don't always happen the way we hope or the way we plan, however; it is how we choose to deal with our fate that can make all the difference in the world. We used to question why we were unable to have children. Now, we realize that God just has a different plan for us. Just as you are taking the time to investigate all of the choices you have, we have thoroughly investigated all of our options. We know that it has been God's plan for us to adopt. We will not take lightly the sacrifices you are considering.

We adopted our only child Kara, over two years ago, through American Adoptions. During her birth mother's pregnancy and in the years that followed Kara's birth, we have seen first hand the love, strength and courage demonstrated in placing a child for adoption. Every decision that Kara's birth mother made has been out of love for Kara. Though this process, we gained a much better understanding of the sacrifices a birth mother makes to provide the best life possible for her child. We think that it has made us the parents we are today. We do everything we can to be the best parents possible and to give Kara the life that her birth mother dreams of for her.

We had our first date over 20 years ago and have been very much in love ever since. During our 16-year loving and stable marriage, we have both always wanted to raise a family and grow old together. Years of infertility and miscarriage have made us even stronger as a couple and our love for each other and our faith in God has only increased. We dream of having another child and know that this child will be surrounded by unconditional love, kindness and much fun and laughter. We are very active and love to enjoy life.

We grew up in the same town and have chosen to settle down here. We both still maintain close friendships with our childhood friends. Jim's Mom was Suzanne's 8th grade English teacher. As a retired teacher, she gets to spend plenty of time playing games, coloring, and reading to Kara. Jim's parents are retired and have traveled to many interesting places and have so much to teach a child.

Suzanne's Mom loves to play dress up with her grandchildren, have tea parties, and tell stories about each of the dolls in her doll collection. Her grandchildren especially love the story about a doll named Rita that was accidentally left outside in the rain when Suzanne's Mom was a little girl. Her face is a little cracked, so they have to take extra special care of her. Suzanne's parents love taking Kara on nature walks and to the park.

Suzanne enjoys going with Kara on trips to the library, the parks and visits with cousins. Suzanne loves cooking and she, Jim and Kara sit down together almost every night for a home cooked meal. Friday nights are usually spent relaxing at home with a good movie, popcorn and pizza. Saturday mornings Jim often makes a trip to Home Depot or Lowe's and takes along his buddy Kara. He can't wait to have another little pal to bring along. Sundays, after a leisurely breakfast, we attend mass and have a family dinner. We also love going out for Mexican, Italian, Chinese, etc. Weekends are a time for fun activities. We love to travel and since our schedules are flexible, we have plenty of time for relaxation and family vacations.

We will do everything in our power to make sure that this child has every opportunity for a happy and successful life. We will love this child unconditionally and encourage them to follow their dreams, be kind toward others, and to respect the life that you have given him or her.

In the years to come, we will be excited to provide you with lots of pictures and detailed letters so that you will have peace of mind that the decision you made was the right one.

Your will always be remembered in our prayers. We will be forever grateful to you for placing this child in our arms.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,

Jim & Suzanne
