Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. We know this is a very difficult decision for you to make and you are trying to do the best thing for your child. We hope this letter and our profile allows you to get to know us a little. We certainly wish you the best and hope that you find a wonderful family for your child. Of course, we hope that family is us, but if it isn't we know you will make a choice that feels right to you.
Our names are Eric and Kelli and we have a daughter, Olivia. We began dating 18 years ago while in high school and have been married for the last 11 years. It is hard to believe that we've spent over half our lives together, but we become better friends every day. We were unable to have a biological child, so we elected to adopt and we are very thankful we did. In 2003 we were lucky to become parents when Olivia came in to our lives. We used American Adoptions for the first adoption as well. We routinely send letters and pictures to the agency for the birth parent(s), but it is our understanding that these letters have never been requested by the birth parent(s). That is their decision which we respect, but we do hope at some point they will request to see them. We will certainly do the same if you select us to adopt your child and are willing to consider additional communications. Olivia is still too young to understand, but we do not keep the fact that she is adopted a secret from her or our friends. In fact, we have saved the profile used for that adoption and copies of the letters to her birth parents and those will be given to her later in life. The same would be done for your child.
Eric is a manager for an agency of the Federal Government. His office is a mile and a half from our home which means time isn't lost during the day commuting to and from work. He has many young co-workers with young children, many of which will attend the same school as our children. Kelli works for an accounting firm. Four days of the week she works from home and one day she commutes to an office just a little over an hour away. This works very well because we both have very flexible schedules. Olivia attends a daycare facility that has preschool in the morning and we have been very happy with the quality of care provided. Your child would be placed at an in home daycare that has been recommended by Eric's co-workers after spending a couple of months at home with mom and dad while on leave from work. After one year old we would then move to the daycare facility that Olivia attends.
Education is very important to us. We feel our public school system is very strong, but we also have a private school available within the city. We live next door to the elementary school and close to the junior high and high schools. Our parents were very involved in our education and we know the difference this makes in a child's
success in school. We will encourage our children to continue their education after high school by attending either a trade school or a university. We have already begun saving for our children's education. We are lucky to be in a financial situation where we have the ability to save. We also have inherited farmland and the income from this will be devoted to saving for our children's education. We were both fortunate to graduate from college without any debt and our intention is for our children to do the same.
Our favorite time of the year is the Christmas season. We love traveling to Kansas City to see the Christmas lights on the Country Club Plaza and enjoy baking sugar cookies together. We attend Christmas Eve service and rarely miss church the remainder of the year. We routinely do social events with other young families from our church as well.
Thank you for taking the time to find out more information about our family. Please know that if you select us, your child will be loved beyond belief and will be raised by a caring couple that will always do what is best for your child. We wish you the best.
