Thank you so much for considering adoption during this very difficult time for you. Please realize that it is because of people like you who have the courage to allow our dream of raising a child to come true. We both admire the courage that it takes to make the great sacrifice that you are considering, and we are very hopeful that you will take an interest in our profile.
Our names are Victor and Gillian, and we have been married for almost six years. We met in September of 1998 when we shared a classroom together as high school English teachers. We worked so well as a cooperative team in many respects, and eventually our friendship grew into marriage.
Both of us are so excited about all of the advantages that we will be able to share with a young child at this time of our lives now that we've had so much life experience and have had the added blessings of a comfortable lifestyle and a mature and stable relationship. Because we are both certified teachers, the child will receive a wonderful education and lots of "hands-on" support from the two of us. In fact, Gillian plans on becoming a stay-at-home parent in the near future, that affords a lot of opportunities for both daytime and evening family activities.
In our household we are so fortunate to have three wonderful dogs who add so much love and enjoyment to our lives. A child will have so much fun with our dogs Mikey, Benji, and Reggie. We believe that helping to care for pets is such a valuable learning experience for a child. A true sense of responsibility, compassion, and commitment
is derived from being a caregiver to an animal whose life and well-being depend on you. We are so excited to share this experience with a child!
Besides our love of animals, we are eager to share so many experiences with a growing child. Victor has been the coach of various sports teams for over thirty years, and Gillian has enjoyed playing sports such as soccer, basketball, field hockey, tennis, skiing, swimming, softball, and bowling. What a wonderful time we will have playing and watching sports events together! And because New Jersey has four distinct seasons, we are fortunate enough to have different types of weather in which to enjoy sport of all kinds throughout the year. In the community where we are having a new house built, we are excited about having a playground, tennis courts, baseball field, pool, and basketball court just a short walk away. We are also a few minutes from New Jersey's largest freshwater lake, about two hours from the beautiful and fun-filled New Jersey shore, and less than an hour from New York City, the center
of so many cultural, educational, and leisure activities that we cannot wait to share with your child.
In addition to the above, we are so anxious to explore the individual talents that your child may have. We will encourage him or her to take classes in music, dance, yoga, theater, foreign languages, and anything else that may be of interest. We will expose the child to a large variety of activities at an early age so that s/he can choose the most enjoyable and pursue those. We are also prepared to provide the best college education if s/he should wish to take that route in life.
Apart from exploring various forms of enjoyment with a child, we are very dedicated to providing strong values in our household. We will build a strong religious foundation throughout childhood and adolescence by attending church services, religious education, and social events sponsored by the church. We hope that participating in these activities as a family will only make our unit stronger and reinforce all of the values that we hold dear and that guide us in our life and marriage. It is also our belief that exposure to religion will help any child to make healthy decisions in life at times when we cannot be present or when s/he is under the influence of peer pressure and the pressures of society in general. We hope that s/he will always have a place to turn when life's difficulties arise and that religious faith will be a source of comfort and inspiration for him/her.
Your child will always know how grateful we are to you if you choose us as parents. We will share pictures and letters with you for as long as you wish, and we hope that you will do the same for us so that some of your child's questions can be answered as accurately and honestly as possible. However, if you would prefer not to do so, we understand your need for privacy as well.
