Dear Birth Parent(s),

Thank you for considering us and we would like for you to know that this is a very humbling experience for us to receive such a blessed gift.

But to us, Kevin and Gail, this is more than a blessed gift it is an opportunity for us to have a family, as Gail is unable to conceive. But to us this isn’t a bad thing as Kevin’s brother and he were both adopted, thus making this a very special opportunity for the two of us.

As for us, we have been married eight years and known each other for ten, during which time our love has grown stronger and not a day goes by that we don’t tell each other I love you or share a few minutes of quality time together relaxing. With this said Gail will tell you really it is the clown in Kevin that has kept us together, minus the cornball humor.

Living in a rural setting allows for that relaxation to come in many forms. There is nothing like going out and tossing ball in the backyard with the dogs while listening to the sounds of nature, whether it is the crickets and bull frogs or cows bellowing from an adjacent pasture. Additionally, we find it relaxing to walk across the street and feed the neighbors horses and take casual walks in the evening as the mist crosses the pastures.

In fact when we purchased the place and decided to build it was with children in mind. As you can tell from above this community is safe, with a good education system yet rural enough for us to raise horses or cattle if we like.

With this said we are so excited about the opportunity to share our unconditional love with your child. In addition to our love we will strive to be the best role model a child could ask for and support them in all of their endeavors. As a role model we believe education plays a major role and this includes starting a college fund at an early age. Additionally, we understand that education isn’t just through books and we cherish the day we can share in hands on education through 4-H projects or traveling to see places like the White House or Alamo. Nonetheless, if the child’s interests or talents are totally different from ours it will not matter, because we will be supportive of them. After all we both know not all of ours were exactly what our parents had interest in.

Furthermore, we can’t wait to see his/her face the first time they see Mickey Mouse, dress as a clown for Halloween, get their first hit in baseball or softball, catch their first fish or walk through the backend of a rodeo, seeing the animals up close. More so, we can’t wait to share vacations, watching their feet sink into the sand of Hawaii’s great beaches or seeing the buffalo roaming the vast wilderness of Yellowstone National Park or anywhere their little heart desires. Ultimately, we just hope their childhood can be as memorable and positive as ours.

However, as much as we look forward to sharing our memories we also look forward to teaching the child about his/her past. We believe they need to understand their heritage and that their adoption had to be one of the hardest things you’ll ever do. But it was also one of the most heartfelt as well. We will also make sure they understand that we have provided you with pictures of them as they have grown.

To us children are a gift and an extension of you and we cherish the day we can share memories and make memories with our own.
