Dear Birth Parent(s),

Adoptive Family David & Patty

It is with great joy and anticipation that we introduce ourselves to you. We share your goal of finding the best home for your child, and we hope that through this letter, you choose to learn more about us. We look forward to learning more about the person who will make our family dreams a reality. Our goal is to raise our children to know that his/her birthparents love him/her and that all of our lives were changed by the blessing and love of adoption.

We were introduced by a mutual friend on Valentines Day, and after the first date, we knew we had met our soulmates! We both speak Spanish, love to travel, make each other laugh, and value our Catholic upbringing. Within 1 1/2 years we were married in a beautiful old church in Mexico surrounded by our friends and family. We moved into our new home the day we returned from our honeymoon. The house was only a short drive away from the lake where we loved to spend our summers on the family boat skiing, wakeboarding and swimming with friends and family. Our dog Noel also entertains us all by long jumping off the dock to chase tennis balls! She was the first addition to our family...we adopted her from the Humane Society on our first Christmas Eve! (As I write this letter, she sits at my feet curled up by her “rubber chicken” toy just waiting for me to throw it in the backyard for her!)

After 6 years of marriage, we are still each other’s best friend. Hand in hand, we are embarking on this journey of growing our family through adoption once again. Because our brothers and sisters never had any difficulties with getting pregnant (we have 11 nieces and nephews to prove it!), we were confident that there would be no waiting for us. Instead, came 3 years of waiting. After multiple unsuccessful fertility treatments, we could have kept trying, but we felt that all the doctors visits and procedures were detracting from our primary goal, which is to be loving parents and to have a family that can share in the blessings that we have been lucky enough to have.

It was at this point we realized that adoption had chosen us. We had always considered ADDING to our family through adoption., now we knew that we would be BUILDING one instead. The realization that God has a plan for us has brought us not only a sense of relief, but one of joy. It has been a true test for us and we are proud of the fact that we emerged from it with even greater love and admiration for one another than before. Our experience in adopting Nina is one of our most defining memories as a couple. We truly feel lucky and blessed to be in her life. We look forward to the next experience and hope to make Nina a big sister soon!

Our prayers go out to you in hopes that your journey of discovering what is best for your baby gives you a sense of peace, for that alone is a great act of love that you should be proud of. There is an answer out there for you, as there is for us. Of course we hope that you will consider us, but more importantly we want you to be happy and at peace with your decision. If you do choose us, letters and pictures will follow, if you like, to maintain that peace. We wish you the best throughout your pregnancy and into the bright future that awaits you!

With Love and Anticipation,

David & Patty
