Hello, we are Lori and Mike! First, thanks for taking the time to read our letter. We realize this is a huge decision in your life. We appreciate that you would consider us to provide a loving and caring home for your child. You have our word that we will do everything in our power to provide your child a safe, loving, caring home. We have dreamt of the day when we can help raise a child and you can be confident that we would always be there for your child for the rest of our lives.
A little about us; we met about 10 years ago through work and have been married now for over 5 years. We fell in love after a very short dating period and knew pretty quickly that we were going to spend the rest of our lives together. The best thing about us is that we are our best friends! We do not have any children of our own. But we have been surrounded by children all of our lives through brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews and know that we will be great parents. We both work but have flexible schedules that we will coordinate to provide the best-possible life for your child.
Since we were biologically unable to have children, we looked at the other alternatives for starting our family. Lori had recently had a cousin who underwent a successful adoption and it gave us a lot of insight into the process. We also spent time visiting local agencies and talking with others who have adopted. We realized immediately that this was the right path for us. Our goal was to find a child that we could love and give a great home to. We respect that it will be a difficult decision for you and we want you to know that our main goal in life is to provide a happy home to our new child.
We have lots of fun things planned for your child! We love taking trips to the beach with family and friends and have lots of family traditions to share with them. Because we have such a large extended family, there will be plenty of cousins for him/her to play with and count on as they grow older. We also love outdoor activities and playing sports and have visions of us all being a very active family. We love celebrating holidays and have great times together at Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Both of us had lots of great holiday memories and we look forward to building more!
We have been very fortunate that we have had good careers and look forward to giving your child a safe and happy home. Education is very important to us and you can feel comfortable in knowing that we will do everything we can to give your child every opportunity in life. Lori plans to stay at home for a period of time from her work and Mike owns his own business and has flexibility in his schedule. There will always be someone at home with your child and his/her safety is of utmost importance to both of us.
We plan on being very open and honest with your child about their adoption. Our goal is to keep you involved and updated in their life and progress through letters and pictures. We really believe it is important for them to understand where they came from and understand the love that their birth mother shares with them.
We both know that this has to be a very difficult decision and hope that you have family and friends to support you. We constantly think about birth mothers on a constant basis and our thoughts and prayers are always with each of you.
