Dear Birth Parent(s),

Adoptive Family Eric & Lora Lee

Words cannot express the gratitude and respect we feel in our hearts for you. The gift of life is such a wonderful blessing. We would like to thank you for considering us to be the adoptive parents for your child.

For us, being parents is the single most challenging yet rewarding job we will ever have. We are good Christian people and want to provide your child with everything he or she needs to lead a happy, healthy, and successful life. Our family has strong moral values and believes in leading by example.

The decision to adopt came naturally to us and has always been something we have seriously considered. Before our first child, Ryan was born we experienced great difficulty conceiving, followed by a miscarriage and then a premature birth. Our second child, Hailey came easier although the pregnancy was more complicated. Despite our attempts to have a third child, we lost our baby and can no longer have any more biological children. Eric and Lora Lee have always dreamed of having a large family and believe that adoption is the answer to their prayers.

Being a work at home mom has provided Lora Lee with many unique opportunities. She has a flexible work schedule and is able to have the children home with her part-time. Her company is very supportive of families and is aware of our decision to adopt. While at home, Lora Lee reads books to the children, helps them to identify colors, letters, and numbers with flash cards and puzzles, teaches them to draw, and to build with blocks. We also have fun playing hide-and-seek and imagining adventures with the children's stuffed animals and dolls. Ryan and Hailey are very gentle and kind and love to play with our pets. They enjoy sharing lots of warm cuddles and wet kisses with our 2 dogs, Molly and Mitzi. In the evening when Eric gets home, he also spends time with the children reading books, singing songs on his guitar, playing ball, and building railroad tracks on the children's toy train layout. On the days the children go to daycare, they have fun seeing their friends, playing outside, and doing many creative projects. Eric's parents live nearby and are also a great resource.

As parents, we believe that love, respect, and communication are the keys to a great relationship. We always try to see things from the other's point of view and have a very strong marriage. Eric and Lora Lee have been married for five years and feel blessed to have each other. A few of our strengths include our faith, compassion, patience, and beliefs in strong family traditions. Eric and Lora Lee were very fortunate to have been raised in loving families and have an excellent support structure. Your child will be surrounded with love from an extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Through the years, Eric and Lora Lee have started their own traditions. In the fall we take Ryan and Hailey to an apple orchard where they ride on a tractor pulled trolley to pick a harvest of apples. We also try to get the children's cousins together for a Halloween craft party. The day after Thanksgiving, Eric and Lora Lee take the children to pick out a tree to decorate the main floor of the house. We also set up an artificial tree in the basement, and adorn a huge pine tree in the back yard with ribbons of lights. In the spring the kids decorate Easter eggs and go hunting for them in our backyard. On the 4th of July, we enjoy barbequing with family and watching fireworks.

Eric and Lora Lee believe that creating traditions will help their children stay close to one another as they grow older. We would like for your child to become a part of our family and help us to create a lifetime of special memories together.
