Dear Birth Parent(s),

Hi, we are Michael and Kate, and the first thing we want to say is thank you. Thank you for taking the time to read about us, thank you for considering an adoption plan for your child. We hope you know how brave and selfless you are being by considering adoption for your baby. During what must be an extremely difficult, stressful time for you, you are thinking of your baby's future and that is very special. You can rest assured that if we are chosen to parent your baby, we will always share this with him/her. We commend you and wish you peace, health and happiness on your life's journey.

So, a little bit about us...we are best friends first and foremost. We really like each other and after 10 years of marriage still would rather spend time together than with anyone else! We have a son, Jeremy, who's almost 7 years old, and is a wonderful child. He loves to be around younger and older children, and more than anything wants to have a sibling to share in his adventures and to teach things to. He is self-confident, kind, smart, funny, just a great kid. The three of us love to be together, riding our bikes, playing board games, playing in the park or watching a movie together. Family time equals laughter time and we so much want your baby to join in our fun times. Jeremy can't wait to take your baby to all of his favorite places and to read all his favorite stories to him/her too. We can't wait to watch your baby grow and learn and change, reach milestones like crawling, walking, talking... We want to share the over-abundance of love that we have, to provide Jeremy and your baby the opportunities that we had as children with siblings--hiding under the covers together at bedtime, planning adventures in the yard, having someone to share their thoughts and secrets with. As an only child, this bond is one of the only things missing from our son's life. He has wonderful relationships with his friends and with his many cousins, but he really can't wait to be a big brother! We too, have so enjoyed being parents to Jeremy that we can't wait to go down those roads again--infancy, toddler-hood, the pre-school years. The wonder of those early years didn't escape us, and we long to make some special memories with your baby!

We both believe that children benefit from open communication from an early age. We will share stories of your baby's journey to our family with him/her from infancy, reinforcing for him that he has always been loved, by both his birthparents and his adoptive family. Our families are extremely excited at the idea of us adopting. Both extended families treasure family times that include all of the children and are anxious to add another to the growing brood! Our families are very supportive of us as parents, and will do their part to love and support your baby as part of our family. Your child's dreams are so important to us and we will do everything we can to encourage and support him/her to dream big, to become confident, to go for it--whatever "it" may be. We'll be there every step of the way, through the good and the bad, the successes and the failures. Our extended families will be there as well, cheering, supporting and encouraging.

Our life is a happy one. There's lots of laughter, lots of singing and dancing, and lots and lots of love. We love to go to new places, and look forward to providing your child with so many experiences--aquariums, museums, parks, zoos and of course Disney World! Seeing these places and experiencing new places with a child is priceless to us. Of course we will send you letters and pictures as well, so that you too can be part of the experience and your child's reactions to our adventures!

Education is important to us. We will do whatever we can to provide the very best educational experience for your child. The schools in our town are excellent, the opportunities are endless. We chose to live here and raise our children in a place that supports children and families, so rest assured that your child will have the best educational opportunities possible!

We love being parents. We want to be the strong role models your child will need. We want to share our lives with him/her, provide a loving, stable, happy environment, a very excited big brother-to-be, and too many happy childhood memories to count! There will be exciting days, there will be stay-at-home with mom and dad days, but all of his/her days will be filled with love and support!
