Dear Birth Parent(s),

Adoptive Family Kelly & Carrie

Hello and welcome to the story of us! We thank you first and foremost for taking the time to read our profile and to consider us as the family for your child. We are excited about the prospect of adding a baby to our family and raising him or her. We are generously blessed with supportive family and friends, a caring church, and a beautiful home. We wish to share these gifts with a child.

We met as young children when our families began attending the same church - the very same church we attend today. We literally grew up together - often spending time together carpooling to school, Saturday night dinners, and even summer vacations. Carrie had a crush on Kelly from the time she was about five years old and even pretended to be married to him when she would play house! We began dating in high school, and had been dating for about four and a half years when Kelly's family went to visit his brother in Florida over Christmas. The whole time they were gone, we were miserable without each other. Kelly decided then and there that he never wanted to have to go anywhere without Carrie again. He came home and asked her to marry him…and, as they say, the rest is history. We really feel honored that we were able to start our relationship the way we did. Not many husbands and wives get to know each other as children, become good friends, and then develop a loving relationship over a number of years. We have now been happily married for over sixteen years and feel truly privileged to be married to our best friend!

We each accepted the Lord as our Savior as children, and we strive to deepen our relationship with Him by faithful church attendance and daily Bible reading and prayer time. Our Baptist church has a very culturally diverse congregation of about two hundred thirty, many of whom are children. We are often referred to as a church for the hurting. The love and compassion that is shown by our Pastor and congregation to those in need is a somewhat rare thing in today's society. We stay very active in our church. Carrie plays the piano for our children's choir (in which Cassidy sings), serves in the nursery, and teaches the second grade Sunday School class. Kelly has served as a deacon for the last ten years and teaches the College and Career Sunday School class. We both sing in the choir and are involved in several other singing groups. We even get the opportunity to sing with Cassidy occasionally! What a privilege it is to be able to serve the Lord together as a family!

If you choose us, your baby will be welcomed into a family with a Mommy and Daddy, a big sister, Grandmas and Grandpas, Aunts and Uncles, and lots of cousins who just can't wait to have another little one to play with and love. Most of our family lives within a thirty-minute drive, so we get to spend a lot of time together! As a matter of fact, both sets of Grandparents are planning to care for the baby while Carrie works three days a week. While being a stay-at-home mom might be ideal, we feel that our children getting to spend a few days a week with Grandparents is a close second. We're so thankful that we have our parents to help care for our children, rather than having to put them in a daycare center. We know they are being loved and nurtured while we have to be away.

Our deepest heart's desire is to raise the children that the Lord gives to us to serve Him and to love Him with all of their hearts - in whatever capacity that may be. We will encourage them to discover and use the unique talents with which they have been blessed. We believe a Christian education is important and we will do our best to provide them with every educational opportunity we can. And we will love them and support them each step of the way. In short, we will do everything in our power to give your child a wonderful life.

Please know that we will always relay our honor and respect for you and the choice you made. We will tell your child how very much you love him/her and that you made the loving choice that you knew would be best for them. Just as we want your child to know as much about you as possible, we want you to be able to know about your child as well. If you so desire, we will welcome the opportunity to send you pictures and letters as your child grows and develops.

Thank you in advance for your courage, strength, and wisdom. Simply reading family profiles demonstrates a deep and sacrificial love for your baby. Although we haven't met you, we recognize that you are in the midst of a difficult, confusing, and emotional journey. We pray that this letter might provide some hope for you and your child's future. As you read about us, know that we are praying for you, and should you wish, we would enjoy the opportunity to meet you and offer warm hearts and loving support.

Sincerely,

Kelly & Carrie
