Our names are Eric and Sydney. We are thrilled to be able to share a little of ourselves with you, and thank you for your time to get to know us. Knowing that love, respect and dignity are at the heart of adoption, we realize that your decision to allow another to raise your child takes enormous courage and trust. We are deeply moved by this and believe that these qualities will be a fine example to your child.

We would like to tell you a little about ourselves. We met at a surprise birthday party for a mutual friend almost six years ago. The chemistry was immediate, and we found that we had many interests in common, including music, movies, travel and sports. A little less than a year after we got married we began to try for a family, but things did not turn out as we had hoped or planned. Knowing that we both wanted very much to be parents, we chose adoption as the way to bring a child into our lives. There is so much love in our hearts to give, and we are ready to share that love with your child.

Our home is one filled with music, laughter and the tasty smells of cooking. Sydney loves to cook and is often experimenting with new dishes. Luckily Eric is such a good sport and is willing to be her guinea pig. Because not all of her experiments are successful, Sydney also works at perfecting some old favorites as well. Eric's passion is music, and Saturday night in our house is usually "music night". With stacks of CDs, we settle into our TV room and Eric plays DJ, while Sydney dances and sings along. Another Saturday night favorite in our house is "movie night". Again, we head to our TV room with blankets and a big bowl of popcorn and watch the newest releases. Christmas time is our favorite time of year. The day after Thanksgiving is our day to stay home and decorate the house. Christmas carols play all day, as we trim the tree, bake Christmas cookies, and wrap presents. As parents, we look forward to sharing our passions with your child, as well as supporting and developing passions and interests of his own.

We have very similar views on parenting, and believe strongly in providing your child with a positive, loving and supportive environment. As parents we feel it is essential to establish open communication and always model and reinforce good values, manners, and respect for others. We will teach your child these values, and provide him or her with opportunities to make good choices. We believe in positive reinforcement and praise for doing the right thing, while at the same time setting clear and reasonable boundaries.

We have endless plans for your child, especially family oriented activities, including Sunday dinners, baking chocolate chip cookies on the weekends, trips to Disney World, and new traditions we start together as our own family. We look forward to encouraging your child to try new things, pursue his or her own unique talents, and nurturing him along his path of fulfilling his dreams.

Our families and friends are very enthusiastic and supportive of our decision to adopt and to have a new baby in the family. Your child will be given an enormous amount of love and acceptance from everyone. Our nieces and nephews are looking so forward to a new cousin, while our parents are anxiously waiting for a new grandchild.

Please be assured that your child will know how he or she came to be a part of our lives. We will present your life in a positive and most grateful way. We will send you letters and pictures so that you can share in the joy and pride of watching your child grow. Your child will know that it was your generous love and unselfishness that allowed us the opportunity to have him or her be a part of our lives.
