Hi, we are Debra and Don. We have been married for over 15 years and have a supportive and loving relationship, strong family ties and very close friends. We both grew up in Virginia where we live today. Both of us are "down to earth", adventurous, humorous, and enjoy life to its fullest. We are hoping to share our lives and experiences with a child of our own. Welcoming a child into our loving, stable, warm home is our biggest dream.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We know that you are facing many significant decisions right now, and we appreciate the consideration you are giving to the adoption process and to us in particular. While it is hard to condense our lives into words, we hope that as you read this letter and look through our pictures you will get a better sense of who we are and what it would be like for a child to grow up in our family.

We met each other in High School, but didn't start dating until a few years later when we ran into each other at a party. We spent a lot of our free time on the river boating, knee boarding and fishing. We also enjoyed playing cards, pool and going on weekend trips to the beach and the mountains as a couple and with our friends and family. We dated for 7 years before marrying. Fortunately for us, both of our families get along great with each other which has enabled us to spend time with both families at the same time. All of our holidays and most of our vacations are family events which we all enjoy very much. We are very grateful to have such a loving family and look forward to sharing that love with a child.

We are unable to have a biological child, and are hoping to find a child through adoption. It wasn't the way we originally imagined we would have children, but we are very excited and think adoption would be a wonderful way to expand our family. We know that a baby is out there somewhere and we will love him or her with all our hearts. Our families are familiar with both aspects of adoption and are very supportive. When the baby arrives, he or she will have a large extended family waiting and ready with open arms for a smooth transition.

We both believe that whatever else we do in our lives, raising a child will be our number one priority. We both have fond memories of our parents and siblings who took the time to show us their love and affection. We are excited to share these experiences and create these relationships with a child.

We will teach your child about kindness, compassion, honesty and respect. This child will be raised with a lot of praise and positive reinforcement. We feel that a strong sense of self-esteem is important. We value education, and will encourage the love of learning throughout their life. We will encourage your child to follow their passions and not be afraid to try new things in order to find something they truly love doing. We will build our world around loving this child and doing everything that we can to make sure their life is full of love and will encourage them to be the best person that they can be. We can promise that we will always be devoted parents and we will dedicate our life to this child. We wish you the best of luck in making this crucial decision as you plan the future for your child.
