We would like to introduce ourselves to you. We are Colby & Rebecca, and we thank you for taking the time to learn more about our family, our thoughts and us during this adoption journey.
We cannot imagine what you are feeling at this moment and time in your life, but please be assured that we are compassionate people with great understanding.
There is so much to say, tell and express about our family unit, and us, that hopefully you will read our profile and something about us will intrigue you and you will give us a closer look.
We have been married for almost 6 years and this is a second marriage for both of us. Rebecca has two children; from her first marriage and Colby has no children from his previous. We are not able to have a biological child of our own. Colby has stepped right in and become a parent to Rebecca's two children who are 18 and 14. Christopher and Morgan bring so much joy and delight to our lives; we want to be able to share this joy with a baby. We want to bring a child into our family and teach, care for, nurture and share the world with a child. An addition of a "little one" to our family would be such a blessing. Adopting a child would not only compliment our family, but also complete our dream of sharing, raising and parenting a child in our life together. Rebecca's job has become flexible, so that she will be able to be at home part time with the child.
Our families, both immediate and extended are very excited and supportive of our choice to begin the adoption journey.
We are very hard working people. We take great pride in our home, from the inside - out. An example of our lives: we are honest, trustworthy and very dependable people. We are able to provide a loving home, filled with family camping trips, holidays, birthday gatherings and great family fun time. We are energetic, full of love and we have so much to give a child. We can offer your child guidance in many different aspects of their life, such as teaching "rights from wrongs", manners, and to show respect. We would stress the importance of education. We are and would be very attentive to his or her needs, listen to their problems and would be supportive of the choices he or she makes in their life.
We are willing to keep the communication channel open with you, so that you can see the bright, happy, energetic, enthusiastic child that you brought into the world and have blessed us with the opportunity to be part of his or her life. Pictures and updates would be provided to you on a regular basis, if you so desire. We would like also to provide your child with a "scrapbook" or journal, showing he or she who and where they came from and be open with he or she about the adoption. The birthday of your child would also be the day to honor you as the Birth Parent(s) for bringing such a "special person" into this world and our lives. We would give thanks to you for being the courageous person you are for making such a brave decision.
