Our names are Courtney and Chris. We've been married for nine years, but we have been together since meeting in high school as friends. After dating all through college, Chris proposed on one knee during a surprise carriage ride. We have always loved spending time together, laughing and playfully joking with each other. We also like spending time on our farm with our animals, traveling to the Smokey Mountains, going to ballgames, and watching plays and films.
We enjoy rewarding careers in our fields, being active in our church and community, and gathering frequently with our large circle of friends and family. However, there has been only one thing missing from our lives and that is a child to share our love with. We have always wanted to be parents, and due to infertility, have not been able to realize that dream. But we know that those setbacks have only been obstacles on our journey to lead us to the child destined to become a part of our family through adoption. Should we be blessed enough to adopt, Courtney plans to begin working part time, and both of our mothers are eager to baby-sit on alternate days.
Should you choose us to be the adoptive parents of your child, we would give him or her complete unconditional love. We believe that a child should be encouraged and supported in developing their own gifts and talents. Courtney has always been a dancer, and her family constantly loved and supported her passion by being her very loud cheering section. We want to provide your child with many opportunities to be involved in the activities they enjoy as well. There is great joy in having a passion and being able to follow your dreams: that is something that we will always strive for with your child. Further, we want your child to build self-confidence and self-esteem so they can achieve anything their heart desires. This, we believe, is the road to happiness and joy.
Therefore, we will work to provide your child with an enriched life-from playing on the farm to being exposed to the arts. This also includes a high priority on education (from kindergarten through college) and a positive work ethic. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we want to be positive role models that teach love and kindness towards others, true compassion, and Christian character that leads to a warm heart and strong morals.
Our niece and nephew are also adopted, and we have seen first-hand the gift of adoption in our family. We will be honest with your child about his or her adoption and will share with them your enormous self-sacrifice. If you would like, we would be so pleased to always provide you with cards, letters, and pictures of your child so you can feel relief and confidence in your difficult choice. There is no doubt that you will always be a blessing to us and your child.
