Dear Birth Parent(s),

How do you begin to say thank you to someone who might possibly give you the greatest gift life can give? As we sit down to compose this letter, we cannot possibly comprehend the emotions that you and your family must be feeling right now. We know that a simple thank you may never be enough, but we commend you for your courage and strength that you have shown in considering adoption so that we may be able to have the dream of becoming a family.

We wish you the strength needed to make the best decision for your child. We know you care about your child and want to do all you can to provide him or her with the best possible future. You can ease your fears in finding great parents and role models in us. We look forward to the joys, excitement, and challenges of becoming parents to your child. We anxiously await the opportunity to teach the importance of responsibility, respect for others, the pleasures of laughter and the protection of a close network of loving family and friends.

We met five years ago and fell in love instantly. We married 2 years ago and wanted to start a family immediately. For reasons beyond our control we are unable to conceive a child naturally. We are both so excited about building our family through adoption. We were both raised in very loving families and we are fortunate to have role models such as our parents. We believe that becoming parents will bring joy into our lives greater than we could ever imagine. We would love the opportunity to be parents and to teach your child all the wonderful things we were so blessed to learn through our parents. We look forward to birthday parties, bike riding, flying kites in the park and play dates.

We would be honored if you would consider us as the adoptive parents who would unconditionally love and raise your child. Your child will be raised with a complete understanding of how much you loved him or her by bringing them into the world and giving them the gift of life and a future.

We want you to know that we will be open and honest with your child about his or her adoption. We will always share the wonderful story of how we became a family. We promise to have fun, to be silly, and to fill our life with people committed to providing a warm, loving, nurturing environment. We promise that your child will be raised with love and respect and an understanding of the miracle that created our family. We promise that your child will know that your plan for adoption was made because of your love and commitment to providing them the best possible future. We will also send you pictures and letters, if you so desire, so you will never have a doubt in your mind about your decision.
