Our names are Billy and Mena and although we have never met we can only describe you and what you are doing as courageous, unselfish, and highly respected. We can't begin to imagine what you are going through right now. We hope that you can find comfort in reading this letter and learning a little bit about us and our dream of becoming parents and find comfort in knowing the love and stability we promise to give your child emotionally and financially should you choose adoption. We would never judge you and we honor and respect any decision that you choose to make. We started dating when we were 16 years old and have been together ever since. We are high school sweet hearts and both believe we are each other's soul mate. We love to be silly and believe that our sense of humor and common interests has kept us together this long. We have 15 years of a solid relationship filled with so many happy memories. The only thing we feel is missing is the joy of having a child and being able to make more memories with them. Because of our love for children we knew we wanted to be parents right away. We tried to get pregnant our first year of marriage and after four years of disappointment we went to a fertility doctor and found out that due to past stomach surgeries from an illness Mena was unable to carry a child. We learned at the time how strong our relationship was and has always been, because we never gave up on each other and never let go of our dream to start a family. We soon realized that it wasn't about being pregnant and having a biological child it was just about being parents and raising a child. So we began our adoption journey.
We sincerely promise that your child will receive nothing but love and affection and will always feel safe and secure. They will grow up around positive people who will love and cherish them unconditionally. We will teach them strong values and morals and encourage them to always reach for their dreams and goals whatever they may be. We plan to be extremely involved in whatever hobbies, sports, or activities they choose to be in. We will encourage and teach them the importance of education and show them the importance of family. Your child will always know how much you love them and we will always talk to them about you and the adoption in a positive way. They will know you made your decision out of love and concern for them. We will raise your child to be strong, happy, confident, and proud of the fact that they were adopted and brought into our family and our hearts.
We are blessed to have such wonderful, caring, and supportive family and friends who are more than excited about our choice to adopt. We know that he/she will be welcomed with open arms into our family. Though we will try not to spoil them, we can't make you that promise. Mena's parents are overjoyed about the thought of their first grandchild, and Billy's parents can't wait to have a second grandchild. Coming from Italian and Ukrainian backgrounds we are so excited to share our cultures, traditions, and language with your child. We will be willing to share pictures and letters with you so you can see how they are growing up and how they are doing.
