Dear Birth Parent(s),

Hi, we've been married for over 6 years and trying to conceive for most of that time! We know we were meant to be parents, we just never expected to take this route. We've become excited about adopting as we learn more and hear more beautiful stories of the miracle of adoption. We're blown away by your amazing courage and complete selflessness. Thank you for even considering giving us the greatest gift any human being could ever give another human being!

Heather is a preschool teacher in a hospital-owned center. The center serves the children of the employees of the hospital and it is state-of-the-art! The company is very flexible and family-oriented. Heather works four days per week and can always take time off for family. She has saved months of paid time off for "when the baby comes." And we will definitely be granted top priority on the extensive waiting list in the outstanding infant program right down the hall from Heather's classroom!

Todd also works at a family-oriented company. He's an engineering technician and works on drafting designs of steel buildings at his computer most of the day. He's on flex-time, so he can actually make up his own schedule as he goes. He can go in late or come home early, whatever works best for us and our family.

Todd looks forward to taking our kids to participate in activities, playing catch in the yard or at the park three doors down, taking them for long bike rides, and lots of vacations to see the country! He loves bicycling and lifting weights, grilling out and cooking big breakfasts on the weekends, watching Notre Dame Football and NHRA drag racing, and working on projects. He's actually quite handy to have around the house. He can fix just about anything. He's one of those people who can have a conversation with anybody about anything. He's the uncle that all the kids hang on at family functions!

The little things in life give Heather joy. She enjoys life, laughs often, and definitely loves much! Heather is passionate about children and their social well-being. She loves every child that ever comes into her life and they love her, too! Everybody knows Heather loves to shop: shop for gifts, shop for decor for the home, shop for bargains, shop to browse and relax. She also really enjoys traveling, reading, watching movies, and visiting family and friends.

We believe each child is a unique little person and we will always listen to them, encourage them to pursue their dreams, try new things, stay true to themselves, and shoot for the stars! We know we can provide for children. We will shower them with attention, affection, clothes, toys, and fun life experiences! It's equally important to us to be sure they grow up to be responsible, respectable, and considerate of others! We will be there every step of the way as they blossom into the best little people they can be!

We look forward to learning your goals and visions. We'd definitely want to honor your wishes. We would love to send you pictures and letters throughout the future. (Our cat will probably be thrilled to have us pointing the camera at someone else for a change!)

From the beginning, we plan to celebrate birthdays as well as adoption days. We envision Adoption Day as intimate family time where we celebrate the day the adoption became final. It'll probably be a special meal or activity, but mostly just time to talk openly and honestly about the adoption and you. Above all, we want to answer any questions and listen as our child expresses their feelings. We want to insure that child knows in their heart and soul that they are blessed with two loving families and that makes them extra loved and extra special. If you have any ideas to add or ever think of any other ways to involve you or honor you in this tradition, please let us know, because we would love to do it!

We want you to know how much we admire brave women (and men) like you. If it weren't for you we would probably never have a child to call our own. We strongly believe that God has a plan for us (and it may include you).
