Thank you so much for taking the time to read our letter and consider us as adoptive parents for your child. We hope that we can provide you with a clear picture of who we are and help you in your adoption plan. We truly believe that adoption is such a gift of love and we want to assure you that we can give your child a safe and
loving home.
We are Billy and Dana, a loving couple in our mid-thirties. For us, the family story begins about 10 years ago. At that time, soon after we were married, we began attempts to start a family. However, we were left struggling with infertility. It was then that we realized our ultimate goal was to have a family, not to experience a pregnancy. Thus,
about seven years ago our family began with the adoption of our twin boys, the sons of a bi-racial birthfather and Caucasian birthmother. Our daughter later followed. These people are our world. Today we find ourselves blessed in many ways, stable and secure financially, personally and in other ways as well. We have always wanted a large family and are now looking forward to completing this family. We are grateful for your consideration.
We were told early on in our marriage that getting pregnant would be very difficult without medical intervention. We felt that adoption was the better path for us, and it really has been. We did conceive our daughter after the
adoption, but we were all (including our doctor!) surprised by the news. We want to adopt again to complete our family; we just don't feel that the medical intervention is the right choice for us.
We are blessed to be able to provide a stay-at-home mom to your child. This, along with being adopted herself, has provided her with an ideal skill-set and frame of reference in raising the children. She understands what it feels like to grow up knowing the sacrifice that a birthmother makes for her child. It is very important to both of us that the children have a positive understanding of the decisions made by birth parents. We will gladly share pictures and letters as your child grows and develops into a unique and special individual.
We believe that education is very important. We both have 2 degrees and felt that it was very important that we get our education before we had kids. We want your child to have every opportunity to achieve everything he/she wants; that they also understand that education is important. We want him/her to find something that they love to do, that they have a real passion for doing, and then setting about achieving that goal. As a former teacher, Dana has worked really hard on showing children that learning can be fun, that they can accomplish anything that they truly set their mind to. It's something that she really stressed as a teacher and has continued to do as a mom.
Our priority is our family and ensuring a safe and loving environment for the children. We are eagerly looking forward to completing our family and continuing to teach our children Christian values. We have a strong belief in family and have a large support group excited and waiting with us to welcome the newest member.
We want to thank you for taking the time to see a small glimpse of who we are. We know that this is a very
difficult time for you and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
