Dear Birth Parent(s),

We are so appreciative to be considered as adoptive parents for your child. Making such a decision is purely a selfless act. Your generosity will always be thought of as an extraordinary gift if we are the individuals chosen to raise your son or daughter. We promise you it will be a safe, loving environment with laughter and positive guidance.

As parents, a vital task is for us to nurture the child with a strong moral character. He or she will be gently reminded to have patience and to treat people as you want to be treated. Honesty and sharing are other values that will be instilled at an early age.

We would like to share a little bit about us. As a couple, we strive to maintain cheerful dispositions. We make funny faces at one another and pick up the other's spirit after a challenging day at work. The two of us enjoy walks, visiting unique area locations and spending quiet time together at home.

A pastime for us is to have a pleasant dinner out and then take in a movie. We also enjoy cooking together and tasting new recipes. Nutrition is an integral part of our lives and every effort will be made to have your child see the benefits of eating foods that support their overall health. Eating meals together as a family will be a tradition and as the child grows it will also be a time to talk about his or her day.

We have three cuddly cats named Sooz, Socks, and Gabby. Gabby received his name because he enjoys talking to us! They have all been declawed and are up to date with all of their vaccinations. Our neighbor's little girl loves coming over to play with them.

Our town is a tight knit community with many neighborhood gatherings and functions. There is a derby day where children of all ages can participate in fun activities. Another yearly event in our town is called Septemberfest. There is a parade, carnival, rides, delicious food and a spectacular fireworks display. These are only a few ways we spend time with family and friends.

Church has always been a part of our family values and we will bring the child up realizing the importance of having a strong faith. He/she will partake in Sunday school, as well as attend church as a family. Saying prayers before bed will be part of our nightly routine.

We look forward to sharing family traditions with a child. They might include making special ornaments for the Christmas tree or making Easter candy for our neighborhood friends. We will also encourage thankfulness, not just on the holiday, but every day through the year. Your child will begin to see the positives from having such traits.

In order to provide for our child, we will both be returning to work. Both of us will be taking full advantage of extended time off of work and staying home with the baby for as long as allowed. We will be interviewing numerous at home caregivers to see who best fits our child and his/her personality. As a teacher's assistant Kathy is able to have off nights, weekends, holidays and summers. She looks forward to this extended time period off to enjoy a child!

We are so excited to build our family through adoption and are waiting with anticipation for a little one to make our lives complete. The hopes and dreams you have for your child will be fulfilled if we are selected as the adoptive parents. We promise to send pictures and letters to let you know how he/she is growing. The child will always be an unforgettable gift.
