Dear Birth Parent(s),

Thank you for having the courage to consider adoption as an option for your child. We recognize that you are making one of the most important decisions of your life and we want you to know that your courage and selflessness will not be forgotten. We appreciate your willingness to learn about us and our family and we hope that we can help you to see the truly unique aspects of our family.

Our names are Kathleen and Jim. We will be married five years this year and have a beautiful daughter who is now 3 years old. From the day we met, we knew we had something special, something worth overcoming any obstacle for - Jim lived in Chicago and I lived in New York. In the beginning our relationship was daily emails and phone calls and weekend trips to Chicago or New York so we could be together. For a year and a half we got together every other weekend, taking turns flying, we had lots of fun traveling back and forth. And then one day Jim was offered a job back in NY and I guess the rest is history. A year after he moved back to New York we got engaged and eight months later we were married.

Family takes priority in our lives. We believe strongly that it is the most important role in our lives right now. Kathleen is at home full-time and plans on being at home full-time with your child to provide all the loving support and encouragement that children need. Stay at-home mom can only loosely be applied to Kathleen because they are always on the go somewhere to the park, the pool, gymnastics, and the zoo. We will teach your child to speak freely and express themselves by providing an environment that encourages open communication. We plan to expose your child to lots of opportunities for fun and development but are ready to listen to what your child really enjoys and excels at.

We will always speak positively about you and look forward to writing letters and sending pictures to you, as your child grows. We plan to be open and honest with your child about his/her adoption. We want your child to see their adoption for the beautiful blessing that it is and feel comfortable talking to us about their adoption story. Adoption is the ultimate sacrifice and we will make sure your child knows the extraordinary strength, love and courage it takes to make an adoption plan for your child and how very grateful we will always be for the gift of your child's life.

We pray every day that God will bring a child into our lives and will be very honored and grateful if you chose our family to raise your child. If you chose us we will never take for granted the precious gift you have given us and will make sure that your child knows your decision was one of love.
