Hi! Our names are Jay and Rachel. Thank you so much for taking time to read this letter to get to know us. We can't begin to imagine what you are going through right now but we believe that your decision to choose adoption is made because you truly love your child. We know and trust that everything will work out for you, your child and for us.
About Us: We were college sweethearts both graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Rachel was a dancer and Jay a rugby player - an odd combination to some but a perfect team to those who knew us. We have been married for over 15 years and have enjoyed following each other's dreams and creating special memories. Both of us work at a major pharmaceutical company, Jay full time as the Engineering Strategy Leader and Rachel in a flexible work arrangement as the HR Global Operations Leader. We work well as team, complimenting one another's strengths and weaknesses. Together we have completed many projects that have turned our house into a home. We love spending time together whether it is training for the Boston half marathon, tailgating at college sporting events, riding our Harley, skiing in Vermont or scuba diving in the Caribbean. We enjoy traveling, meeting new people and spending time with our family and friends. We attend church regularly and plan to raise your child with the same morals, beliefs and faith in God that we were taught.
About Jay: Jay is everything to me - my husband, my playmate and my best friend. He is a loving, reliable man who supports his family and friends through thick and thin. Jay is an outgoing, friendly guy who has the ability to attract people of all ages to want to be around him. He is a natural with people especially kids which is seen with our daughter Roxanne, son JT and through his work with the boy scouts, neighborhood kids and our nieces and nephews. His positive outlook on life is seen in his actions and with his friendships. Jay is quite the handy man who has an unbelievable ability to build or fix or solve just about anything. One look at our house and you can see Jay's work everywhere- our deck, our stone fireplace, our finished basement and our amazing swing set. He has even restored a 1969 skylark that he and his grandfather bought at an auction when he was a teenager. Jay is a hard working individual who is a good, trustworthy friend to many.
About Rachel: Rachel is my best friend, my loving wife, my companion, my world. My love for her grows more each day. Rachel is a loving, caring and compassionate woman who easily builds close relationships with family and friends. She is patient, supportive and committed, and truly my perfect partner. She always makes time to listen and understand a problem, and only provides a solution when asked. She has this way about her to make me smile and laugh no matter what life has thrown my way. Rachel's perseverance enables her to overcome obstacles and reach her goals and dreams. She loves the beach, and has taught me to enjoy the sand, surf and sun. It's easy to see the qualities in her that make her a wonderful mother, as she enjoys spending time with our children and our nieces and nephews.
Our Promise To You: We have always dreamed of having a family. It is our hope and greatest desire to be parents. Like when we were growing up, we have visions of the little ones climbing into our bed in the morning, Rachel staying home with them, and the children running to the door when Jay comes home from work. We look forward to welcoming another child into our home with open arms and hearts. We are so excited to share our lives and create memories such as family vacations, trips to the beach, family reunions in the mountains, and little everyday memories that are unique and precious. Given the opportunity, we promise to love your child unconditionally as we love each other and will promise that your child knows of your continuing love. We will provide your child with a solid Christian foundation combined with a home environment filled with lots of love, laughter, and support. We will keep in touch through photos, emails and letters, as you desire to see him/her grow and develop into the unique person God created them to be.
