Hi, our names are Pete and Deana. Thank you for taking the time to read about us and thank you for considering an adoption plan for your child. We hope you know how brave and selfless you are being by considering adoption for your baby. During what must be an extremely difficult, stressful time for you, you are thinking of your baby's future.
So, a little bit about us... We really like each other and would rather spend time together than with anyone else! We met after years of working in the same building. Passing each other in the halls we were always curious about the other. Once we got up the courage to meet, we found an immediate connection and friendship. We both worked with or for government and our mutual interest in "making the world better" has been a strong bond we continue to share.
We have two children (Deana as step-mother), Samantha and Christian. Samantha is a smart and beautiful 17-year-old who is in her first year of college. She is excited for us and excited to be a big sister again. "Sam" is the athlete of the family. She can help us teach the fun and team spirit involved in sports to your child.
Christian is a sweet seven-year-old who loves playing with toys and making new friends. The three of us love to be together, singing silly songs in the car, fishing in our pond, watching cartoons together before bed or riding our horse, Toga. We have wonderful family time and we want so much for your baby to join in our fun times. Christian can't wait to be a big brother. We also can't wait to watch your baby grow and learn and change.
Please know that family is the most important part of our relationship and some of our earliest conversations as a couple were about raising a family. We long for the day-today experience of parenting that we do not currently have. Our entire family is supportive of our decision to adopt. We all believe that you are making an incredible sacrifice for your baby. Our family looks forward for the chance to help us enrich the life of your child.
We also believe that children benefit from open communication from an early age. We will share stories of your baby's journey to our family with him/her from the youngest possible age, explaining that he/she has always been loved, by both his/her birthparents and his/her adoptive family. Your child's dreams are so important to us and we will do everything we can to encourage and support him/her to dream big and be confident that all goals are attainable.
Our life is a happy one. We love to go to new places, and look forward to providing your child with so many experiences-the beach, the zoo, a play. Seeing these places and experiencing new places with a child is priceless to us. Of course we will send you letters and pictures as well, so that you too can be part of the experience and your child's reactions to our adventures!
Education is very important to us. We will do whatever we can to provide the very best educational experience for your child. The schools in our town are excellent and we have some of the best schools in the country. We live in an area that is full of opportunities for fun, culture, sports, etc. We chose to live here and raise our children in a place that supports children and families.
Growing up in very close, loving and caring families, we have learned strong values from our parents. Religion is also very important in our lives. Your baby will be able to choose his or her own faith but will be raised attending church.
Please have faith that your child will be treasured every moment. Because we have flexible schedules, one of us will always be there to provide full time care for the baby. We promise to capture every special moment for you. Our letters will be full of pictures and memories for you to hold on to. You will have no doubt that your decision was the best for your child. You will see he/she is safe, happy and loved.
Again, we thank you for taking the time to read about us, and we wish you well on your journey.
