First of all we want to thank you for taking the time to learn about our family. We can not imagine the decision that lies upon you. You are an incredible person to be considering adoption. We hope that you are given guidance, love and support during this time.
We are Kevin and Kim. We have been married for 10 years. We met at college through mutual friends. We have gone through many big life events together (moving far away, building a home and infertility) which has only made us closer. We enjoy the simple things in life like going out to eat, having friends over to bar-b-que, and going on float trips. We both work outside of the home and believe in sitting down to dinner every night as a family and sharing our day. We rely on our faith to get us through tough times and attend mass at our Catholic church weekly.
We began trying for a family right away however after years of disappointment we realized all we wanted was to be parents. In 2004, we adopted our sweet little daughter, Karlee. Karlee wants so much to be a big sister. She tells our family and friends that we'll have to wait and see what God gives us and that we have to be patient. She has known she was adopted since she could understand it and that her sibling will be as well. Our family speaks about adoption openly and how it is a wonderful thing. Since Karlee was born we have sent letters and pictures to her birth mother and we make that same promise to you. We received a letter in return thanking us and letting us know that she never has doubted her decision because she knows that Karlee is so loved and we are great parents.
Our families are very dear to us. Our siblings are our best friends and we feel it is an important part of life for everyone to have one! A sibling is someone to lean on and be there for each other. Karlee and her brother/sister will also be able to share being adopted which will make their relationship even more special. As parents we give our unconditional love, guidance and support. Family time is extremely important to us. We enjoy days at the pool, riding bikes, jumping on the trampoline, reading books, trips to the library and playing card games. We have begun our own family traditions such as yearly trips to the zoo and making cookies at Christmas. We look very forward to the future when we can add new traditions.
We are fortunate in that both of Kim's sisters have in-home daycares with daily curriculum. Her sister was a teacher and now has decided to do in home daycare. Kim attended Catholic grade school and public high school, which is what we have also chosen for our children's education. We believe in providing financial support to attend college if desired. We want the same if not more than what we had as children. We will encourage them to pursue whatever activities/dreams they might have.
We have so much love to give and desperately want to complete our family. We look forward to that day and would be forever grateful. Once again, thank you for considering us and if you have any questions we would love to answer them.
