Adoptive Family Clinton and Michelle

By this point you’ve looked through quite a few prospective parent profiles, watching their videos, and reading about why they should be picked to parent your child. We want to take this opportunity to tell you more about ourselves, why we are pursuing adoption and our hopes for our future family.

We know with all our hearts that we were meant to be parents. We can’t wait to open our arms, hearts and lives up to a child that we can love. We were married in June 2013 after having dated for 13 months. After we first met, and started dating, we very quickly caught on to the fact that we had a connection that neither of us had ever felt with any other person. We soon realized that we had each found what we wanted in a relationship and it just felt right. Now that we are married and trying to start our family, it again just feels right.

While Michelle knew since she was a young teenager that she couldn’t biologically have children and that any children would come through adoption, Clinton had never considered adoption. However, he had always pictured getting married and starting a family. Pursuing adoption has been the most difficult thing we have encountered as a couple. We feel like our life is currently on hold, while we wait for a child to love. It is amazing though to see how this process has brought us closer together as a couple and we know that we will only become closer as we continue.

Though Michelle worked for several years in human resources, for the last 2 years she has focused on being a homemaker. We both love the idea of having one parent at home full-time with the kids, something we both had growing up. We want to have an active role in our children’s lives and we believe Michelle being a stay-at-home mom will be the best way for us to achieve that. All our friends have young children and Michelle is the craft coordinator for a local mom’s group, so she has a great network of mom friends. They frequently have playdates and go on outings together during the day with their kids and Michelle is looking forward to being able to participate in these events with our children.

Living in Alaska allows for easy access to many different outdoor activities that we are so excited to share with a child. We enjoy outdoor pursuits such as camping, hiking, biking and kayaking – Clinton also enjoys salmon fishing during the summer months. It is a great environment for kids to grow up in, and we look forward to introducing our child to each of these as they grow. We most look forward to helping our child find what activities and pursuits will interest them as they grow and experience more things.

We can’t imagine the emotions that are going through your mind and heart. We want you to know that we think about you and pray for you often. Our hope and prayer is that our relationship with you will be one where you feel loved and respected. We are open to future contact via letters and emails and would be happy to include photos as well. We want you to have peace and confidence that you made the right decision for your child.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our profile. Hopefully you enjoyed seeing some of the pictures and the video showing some of the beauty of where we live. We hope to be able to meet you and your child in the near future.

Thank you!
