Dear Birth Parent(s),

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, for looking at our profile and choosing to learn more about each of us and the story of our married life together. We realize that this is a difficult time for you, and while we don’t know you personally, we are eager to learn as much as you are willing to share about yourself. We hope that we are lucky enough to be given the opportunity to provide love, encouragement, support and the financial foundation to ensure that your baby is happy, safe and secure.

Our names are Bill and Kelley and would you believe that we’ve been friends since High School? We weren’t high school sweethearts, but we both grew up in the same small town in southwestern Connecticut. But it wasn’t until a few years after we both graduated from college that we were reunited --- the rest is history. Actually, it’s hard to believe that we’ve been together for about eight years now and married for almost six, because it just seems like we just got married! We probably think it feels that way because we love to be together. We walk the dogs together, we go hiking and biking together and we ski together. In the summer, we spend time on our sailboat or head to the family lake house for waterskiing, fishing, swimming, playing frisbee golf and bags.

These are just some of the activities we will share with a child. In addition, we are looking forward to teaching him/her to ride a bike, watch them eat their first ice cream cone, show them how to shoot a jump shot, put their first star on a Christmas tree and many more activities. Most importantly, we are going to read to them every night. One night early on in his/her childhood, we will tell them their adoption story. The child will know that you will always love them very much. We will express how difficult this decision was for you and this choice was considered because you wanted the child to have the best life possible. Kelley is an amateur photographer and she is looking forward to documenting the child’s life so you can see how he/she is progressing and hopefully this will ease your concern about the possibility of placing your child in our care. We will love her/him with all our hearts if given the opportunity.

Kelley is very excited to switch gears from a full time working girl to a part time graphic designer who works from home. We currently work together at the same company and preparations have been made for Kelley’s departure. Bill will be sad to see her go but our house is only three blocks from his office. So Bill will be taking a lot of lunch breaks at home!

We are very excited about the prospect of becoming first time parents; in fact we have been planning for a family for about four years now. We got married because we love each other very much and we both really wanted a family. We went through all the infertility treatments but none of them worked so we are excited to grow our family through adoption. We believe this was sign that there is a child out there who needs us just as much as we need them. All of our family and friends are extremely excited that we are adopting a child. We have pretty much told everyone - even the local pizza guy knows! We have been lucky in so many ways - we each found the love of our lives - and we have prepared ourselves emotionally, financially and spiritually to become leaders for a child and for the community. We are eager to open this new chapter in our life and to become the parents we know we will be.
