Adoptive Family Jeff and Martina
Thank you for taking the time to consider us as parents to your child. There is an incredible range of emotions going on for all of us and we will do our best to show in this letter the true love in our heart for your child.

As excited as we are for this opportunity, we want to be equally supportive about what you must be going through. We don’t know you yet, but we know you must love this child deeply and want to give them the best life possible. You have our commitment that your child will be unconditionally loved and that we will do everything in our power to protect them and provide them with the very best life. We will keep you updated with letters and pictures to provide you reassurance that your child is happy, safe and loved.

We have been together for 18 years, married for almost 13 years, and we have a 4 year old daughter. We’re a very happy family that enjoys life’s simple moments, as much as the adventurous ones. We met in college and have never looked back. Both of our extended families immediately welcomed us and after 5 years of dating, we got married and went on one of the craziest honeymoons possible. We were in Jamaica and we got stuck in a category 5 hurricane. We laugh about it now, but it truly was a very quick test of how strong our relationship was as we huddled in our hotel bathroom barricaded in furniture/pillows, waiting out the storm. Metaphorically speaking, we survived the storm and, as the sun came back out and the locals rejoiced in the streets, we knew we had a bright future ahead of us.

We both worked really hard in our early adult lives to be successful and stable and to own a nice home. However, after realizing her career path wasn’t going to be truly fulfilling, Martina left her job as a scientist to follow her passion for animals. She volunteered at an animal shelter and worked her way into the zoo and was rewarded with her dream job as a zookeeper. Martina is now a manager in the education department at the zoo where our daughter attends a unique and outstanding preschool. Jeff was happy to support her in following her dream and it was a good thing, because she returned the favor a few years later. After we moved our lives to Florida, Jeff left his job to start his own business. He always wanted to own his own business and although it came with its own set of challenges, it was as rewarding/flexible/fun as he hoped it would be. Martina not only supported him, she gave him that nudge he needed to take the chance. Work does not define us, but we’re both extremely grateful that we are happy in that aspect of our lives. Overall, our careers have helped us realize that we have the ability to create our own happiness and can march to the beat of our own drum.

Our home life is filled with a lot of adventure and fun but we also enjoy simply relaxing and spend a lot of downtime with our friends and their kids. We have annual passes to Disney World, which is our second home. We also frequent our neighborhood country club to socialize, swim and eat. Martina is an incredible cook and we love exploring new places to eat. We travel a lot by taking long weekend trips to nearby Florida spots/beaches, as well as at least 1 big vacation somewhere new each year.

We can’t wait to share our life’s experiences and more importantly our hearts with your child. It would be a blessing and an honor if you chose us. Thank you again for taking the time to learn more about us.
