We met in June 2009 and were married in 2011. We love to travel and do so often. We took a road trip once from Louisiana to Georgia, Washington, D.C., and back to Louisiana. Talk about a long trip that was definitely fun, but such a loooong way back home!
We enjoy camping on the weekends with family and friends. While camping, we like to cook out, hike, bike ride, play cards or board games, or just sit and visit. We love to just be goofy. We try not to let the other one stew in a bad day by making jokes or just being silly by dancing around the kitchen to music. This helps us stay positive, even on rough days that we know we all have. We play competitive games, but all in good fun. Both of us also like to read as it helps to grow the mind.
We were eager and open to start a family right away, but that wasn't in the plans for us. We've spent the last six years hoping for a child. We've grown together as a couple and look forward to expanding our family through adoption.
As overwhelming of a situation this might be for us, we can in no way fully understand what you are going through. This, we're sure, is one of the toughest decisions you will ever make. We want you to know that we'll be here to support you. We want you to know that if we're chosen, this child will grow up in loving household with two parents that will do everything in their power to help them grow into a successful adult and knowing they can do anything they put their mind and energy into. Our household is a Christian house, Melanie is Catholic and Joel is Baptist. While we grew up and practice two different religions, the basics are the same. This baby will know they were put into your life and ours for reasons beyond our knowledge, only God knows the answer to that. They will know that our paths crossed to help provide them with a future that holds whatever they want it to be. We will be supportive in whatever they do, whether it's school, sports, clubs, girl/boy scouts, etc. This child will be surrounded by a large support group. Between great-grandma, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, they'll have an extended family of around 45 people that will love them unconditionally, and spoil them rotten we're sure!
We look forward to sharing their progress and life with you. We'll send pictures and emails to you as they grow. We never want you to worry about the life you've chosen for them if you choose us.Sincerely,
Joel and Melanie
