We have been married for three years and knew almost immediately upon meeting that we would spend our lives together. Our shared values, interests and goals strengthened our connection and early in our dating relationship we agreed that we wanted to adopt regardless of whether or not we could have biological children. After two years of marriage, we went to a fertility doctor and found out that natural pregnancy is unlikely for us. While the journey has been difficult, our relationship has been strengthened and our love has grown stronger - we always knew that we wanted to adopt and we feel like God has given us the answer that now is the time for us to become parents through adoption.
Families come together through many different ways, and adoption has been a big part of what has created our extended family - we have numerous members who have come to us through adoption or foster care. We believe that it is important for a child to feel proud of their adoption story and we cannot wait to share and celebrate it with them. We want the child to know that God has put him/her on our hearts for a very long time, that we pray for him/her daily and cannot wait to be joined together as a family. We love sharing in traditions with our large family and cannot wait to experience it with a child!
Both cultural and ethnic diversity make a family more dynamic and we both have family members of various cultures. Our neighborhood and school district are full of families that are different races and nationalities, and we look forward to a child experiencing all of the cultures and experiences that our community has to offer.
We live in one of the top school districts in the United States! Education is important to both of us and we believe that it provides children with the opportunity to discover their talents, passions and abilities. We both have college degrees and professional careers in which we have been very successful. Heather's schedule is flexible and she is considering going part-time when we have a baby - Heather's mom is very excited to watch the baby while she is at work!
Finally, we want you to know that if you select us, your child will be raised in a strong Christian home. Our grandparents and parents are pastors, elders and deacons and Heather and Solomon are very active in our Outreach Group that coordinates service projects for poor and under privileged members of our community. We so look forward to sharing our faith with a child and know that it is an important part of what we can offer!
We want to raise a child to be curious, healthy, confident, and joyful about their family, experiences, and the world around them. We would look forward to sending you pictures and letters so you can see your child growing and thriving. If you're open to it, we think a visit would be great as well.
Thank you for taking the time to read our letter and consider us as parents for your precious child! We continue to pray that you have peace and comfort as you consider your options and that the right choice will be clear to you. We would be so honored to welcome your child into our family!
