Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to read about us! We can only imagine the thoughts and feelings running through your mind at this point. So we will try to keep this interesting for you!
We have been married 4 years and about 2 years ago started discussing adoption as we were having trouble conceiving. After lots of thought and prayer, God has shown us we are ready to start this journey to adoption!
Ever since Jackie was a little girl, she always dreamed of being a mother. After being a Nanny for two different families over the years it only became more of a dream. Just spending those years watching the children grow, laugh and learn new things was an amazing experience for her. To this day she is still in contact with each of the families and the little ones still want her to be their "Miss Jackie.”
Jackie is a homemaker, so most of her days are filled with keeping the house clean, running errands, yard work, playing with our dog Beau, or shopping and lunches with friends. Jackie feels so lucky and grateful that Lee's job allows her to stay at home. He has worked for the Federal Government for the past 14 years and will continue there for the duration of his career. Jackie’s mother, Alice, was a stay-at-home mom until she was in High School and Jackie really enjoyed her being around for her and her two sisters.
On weekends we like to take the boat out and go fishing, camping or kayaking. Lee and our dog Beau love to hike as well and we cannot wait until there is a little one to come along! Jackie goes when it's a short hike but they like to do a lot of miles sometimes!! We get to take long weekends and either rent a cabin on the water or just camp out. Best part of that is the quiet and cooking over the campfire. Oh, and the S'Mores! Our dream is to one day own a cabin or small house on a lake to vacation at.
Growing up, family dinners together were very important. Jackie’s family would have Friday pizza night and hang out and watch movies. Lee's family always had campfires in their backyard with grilling and music. Sundays were church in the morning and then out to eat. We also go every year on big family vacations to the beach and rent a beach house on the water. One with Jackie’s family and then another Lee’s family. Jackie’s younger sister just had a baby, Emeline, on Christmas day so this past beach vacation was so much fun! Especially watching her play with Jackie’s 7-year-old nephew, Devon. Sometimes it seems like we're always on a vacation! These are traditions we want to continue with our family.
We moved to this neighborhood because of the top schools and clubhouse with gym and pool (with a splash pad for kids!). Beau and Jackie will go for walks or to Starbucks for a Chai Tea Latte and a Puppaccino for Beau! He loves car rides and doggy play dates with a neighborhood dog in our fenced back yard.
We are not the best at taking pictures of ourselves, but have a thousand of Beau and our nieces and nephews. We plan to share many pictures with you along with emails and visits if that is what you would want. Our plan is to be open and honest with our child about his/her adoption and would be glad to be as open as you would like. Both of our families are supportive about our adoption plan and are so excited to have another little one to spoil and cuddle!
Thank you again for taking the time to learn more about us! We will be praying for you and your journey, whatever that may be.
Lee and Jackie
