Adoptive Family Joe and Stephanie
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us better. We know that choosing adoption is a brave and selfless act of love and if we are the family you choose, we will do everything to give your choice the honor it deserves. We will respect any level of openness desired through letters, pictures, emails, phone calls and visits to name a few possibilities. It is wonderful how an open adoption can provide a measure of comfort and reassurance for everyone. We will always make sure your child knows how much you love them.

Our names are Stephanie and Joe. We have a son named Calhoon (Cal) and a Jack Russell Terrier mix dog named Lil' Red. We met in our final year of high school and have been together for 13 years and married for 9 years. Many of our early dates were just walks around Joe's neighborhood. We still love going on walks. We get exercise, fresh air, new views and most important heart felt conversation. We have some of our best conversations while we are out walking our neighborhood. In the second year of our marriage before we knew about our fertility problems, we were out walking and talking about our hopes for children and we both expressed a desire to adopt. We knew we were both capable of loving all children no matter how they became a part of our family. Fast forward, after several years of infertility, we now have an even stronger desire to adopt. We know God has a plan for us and it is amazing to see His hand in our life as we look back and see the seeds for the desire to adopt planted so early in our marriage. We know that adoption is the right choice to expand our family and we pray daily in gratitude for our son and that another child will join our family.

We were blessed with Cal after several intense infertility treatments and a very complicated pregnancy. He was born 10 weeks early and now is a healthy child. Our years of infertility have sharpened our focus on what is most important in life. Because of our experiences we could never take for granted the children in our life and are just so thankful for every day. Cal is still young and can't understand what it would mean to have a sibling, but we think he will be a great older brother. He loves being around other children and always squeals with delight and starts chatting when he sees a baby. We love our own siblings and hope that Cal will be able to have a sibling close in age so they can be best friends.

We have a strong community of support with family, friends, church and work. We promise you that your child will be loved and adored not only by us, but also by our family and friends. All members of both our families couldn't be more excited to add another grandchild, cousin, niece or nephew through adoption. We also have wonderful friends who prayed for us to have a child and now join fervently in our hopes to adopt. Some of our favorite activities with our family and friends are spending a day on the beach at a lake swimming and kayaking, going to sporting events and spending quality time together at each other's homes.

Being parents is our number one priority. Joe is a very fun dad. He keeps the energy up for play time and loves goofing around with Cal and our friend's children. Through his job with the city he works with nearly 1000 youth per year and they love "Coach Joe". Stephanie is a loving and nurturing mother. She soaks up every second of being a mom. She especially enjoys cuddles, story time, play time, and hugs and kisses. Stephanie is a computer programmer and enjoys the challenge of problem solving. We both have very flexible jobs that allow us to be parents first.

We hope to share our lives, love and laughter with another child. You are in our prayers as you consider your adoption plan.
