Adoptive Family Jake and Kristen
We want to start off by saying that we truly admire you for your bravery. You have made a courageous decision and we will always respect you for your choice. We can't imagine what you are going through, but we are thankful you are reading this letter and considering us to raise your child. We are thankful to be a part of your journey.

We want to share with you a little bit about our story! We met when we were in elementary school. We attended the same school and church. We were in the same friend group in high school, but the light bulb didn't go off that we should be together until Jake's high school graduation. We started dating in June of 2007. Jake enlisted in the United States Navy for 4 years and he left for boot camp just 3 months after we started dating. The moment Jake got there, he called Kristen and told her she was going to be his wife. We never gave up on each other. Distance was difficult, but we were so excited for our future together. It was worth the wait. Jake finished his time in the Navy in 2011. Kristen graduated from college and we got married in June of 2012!

Currently, Jake is an IT Analyst at a global pharmaceutical company. After Jake finished his time serving in the military, he worked at the family car dealership and got his degree in Management of Information Systems and Business. Jake is hard working and loved at work and home. He is active and loves to find fun things to do as soon as he gets off work. When we hang out with family, he is always playing with our 9 nieces and nephews. He says they are more fun than adults! He is the coolest uncle and he will be a phenomenal father.

Kristen graduated from a liberal arts college in 2012 and received her degree in Elementary and Special Education. After she graduated, she taught 1st and 2nd grade for 4 years before becoming the Children's Director at a nondenominational church nearby. We had been attending that church for a few years before Kristen started working there, but we knew it was the right move and a perfect job for her to be a dedicated mom. Kristen has worked with children her whole life and her face lights up when she is teaching kids. It has always been her passion and she will be an incredible mother. Kristen's job is very flexible, which means that she is able to put our child's needs first. She has the flexibility to work from home some days and our families are really close by to watch our child while we are at work! Our moms have already chosen the days they want to babysit!

The one thing missing in our home is a child. We have so much love to give and our hearts desire is to share the love we've been given with a child. We promise to give them as much love as possible. We will do our best to raise them well and help them know right from wrong. We will be a support system for them. We are a team. Our infertility battle made us lose so much hope, but you have shown us a glimmer of hope again. We thank you for getting us excited for the opportunity of becoming parents. You are helping our dreams come true.

After the hospital, we don't want you to be a stranger! You are an important part of our lives. We would love to exchange emails and have phone conversations from time to time. We want to send you pictures, stories, and keepsakes that mark milestones in your child's life. We are also open to the idea of visits when the time is right. We are excited to meet you and happy to work together to maintain a healthy relationship. We will always speak highly of you and your child will know how much they are loved because of your selflessness and courage. From the bottom of our hearts, we humbly thank you for considering us as parents.

Warmest Regards,

Jake and Kristen
