Adoptive Family John and Brea

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us better. We can't imagine how difficult this decision must be for you and we are so grateful you are exploring adoption for your child. We admire your strength and selflessness throughout this process and hope to learn more about you.

We have been married for six years and met during our freshman year of college over 13 years ago. After dating long distance, we both found jobs we loved in the same city and worked hard to establish our careers in our respective fields. After getting married and buying a house, we were excited to take the next steps to start a family. Throughout our relationship, we always knew we wanted to have children, but we didn't anticipate the difficult road we'd have to get there.

We tried to start a family for over a year and a half and experienced two difficult lost pregnancies during that time. After getting pregnant with our daughter in 2015, we found out there were some serious medical complications related to the pregnancy and required surgery for Brea and our daughter. It was a difficult time in our lives, but throughout the entire journey, we remained hopeful, leaned on each other, and ultimately became stronger despite the challenges. Today, our daughter is an energetic and thriving toddler, and we love being her mom and dad. Due to the surgery, carrying another child naturally would pose a serious risk to Brea and that child, so we have turned to adoption to expand our family, and are very excited at the opportunity.

Our difficult road to starting a family taught us a lot about ourselves, and what is importance to us. We learned that life doesn’t always go according to a plan, and it is up to us to make the most out of each day, even if it includes some unexpected hurdles. It also made the gift of parenting that much greater, and we can’t wait to share our love with another child.

We are an active family and are always looking for new activities and fun things to do in our community. As parents, we provide a loving, safe, and supportive home, where our child can feel comfortable being themselves. We value communication, respect, and education and hope to instill these values in our children. We look forward to sharing our love for travel, music, and sports with our kids and exploring their interests and cultural backgrounds. Our community is a great place to raise a family. Our city is culturally diverse, and we are excited for the new experiences we will have as multi-racial family.

Our child's adoption story will never be a secret to them. We plan to be open and honest about who they are and how our family came together, so that they understand from a young age how much you and their adopted family love and care about them. We hope to share their journey and experiences with you through letters, emails, and photos throughout the years. We understand that at this point, it may be difficult to predict the best communication plan. Please know that we are open to finding a level of openness that you are comfortable with and helps you find peace in your decision throughout the different stages of your life and your child's life.

Thank you for considering us as potential parents for your child. We are so excited at the prospect of expanding our family and know that we can provide a wonderful life for another child. We can't imagine the difficult decisions you are faced with during this process, and are grateful that you are considering adoption for your child.
