We have been together since 2011 and were married in 2015 in Estes Park, CO, surrounded by our immediate family. Bridget's brother married us overlooking the mountains. It was absolutely perfect. We live together in a suburb in Missouri with our two beautiful pups, Estes and Roma. We love our pups and nieces and nephews so much, that we can't even imagine the love we will have for our child. We both cannot wait to experience that special bond between a parent and a child.
We knew we wanted to start a family right away, but God had other plans. We are firm believers that everything happens for a reason, and are at complete peace with God's plan that adoption is our path towards parenthood. One thing that makes us unique as a couple is that we really try to be grateful for everything we have, even when times are rough. An attitude of gratitude goes a long way in enjoying life instead of just enduring it.
Words cannot describe how much we already love your child. Please know, this child will be loved and cared for from the moment you make the decision that we are meant to parent your child. We are blessed to have the support of our entire family and even luckier that all our family live nearby. Both of our parents are over the moon about their newest grandchild and are all hands-on, involved grandparents. All four of them will actively be involved in this child's life. We may be biased, but we think they are the best grandparents in the world!
We look forward to creating memories as a family, be it going on a hike at our local state park, making dinner together, or taking a road trip to the mountains. Both of our favorite childhood memories are times spent with family doing the simple things. We are eager to experience life through the eyes of a child, watch him/her grow, learn, and explore the world around him/her.
We both are excited about the idea of having an open adoption. We agree that it is important for your child to know where he/she came from and understand that the decision to let us raise him/her came from a place of unconditional love. We will send letters and photos and are also open to emails, social media connections, and even visits so that your child can have a relationship with his/her biological family. We consider it a blessing that this child will have not only our family, but your family as well to love and support him/her.
We want your child to understand his/her biological and cultural background as well as our family's backgrounds. Regardless of this child's race, we will provide him/her with a diverse upbringing, where they will learn to respect all humans regardless of their race, gender, religion, etc. We will instill in our child the values of respect, compassion, integrity, and to always be grateful for what we have. Life has ups and downs, but life is so much better when we focus on what we have instead of what is missing. We try to keep things simple, living life by the golden rule: Treat others as you would like to be treated.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are giving us the most special and valuable gift we could ever imagine. We will never be able to repay you, but we will try by raising our child to be a kind, loving human being.
With love and sincerity,
Mike and Bridget
