Thank you for being open to adoption and for looking at our profile. We have been blessed with a warm and loving life. As parents, we would share the love and happiness of a strong marriage, an active community and a warm nurturing home. Hands down, favorite vacation spot is Zion National Park in southwest Utah! Zion offers incredible diversity of landscape; from sheer canyons to open vistas to vast meadows.
We like to stay at a small inn in Springdale, just outside Zion N.P. The inn has beautiful rooms with decks overlooking The Watchman rock formation. It is a peaceful getaway. The inn has a pool for playing after a long day of hiking. There's also a really good restaurant, and a spa!
Some of the more memorable hikes in Zion is Angels Landing. They say it is either the easiest rock climbing or the hardest hike. The views from the top are incredible! Overlook hike is easy, and short, and the payout is great! A huge view awaits you at the end. The Narrows is probably our favorite hike. You hike in the Virgin River, so it combines two favorites, hiking and water! We can’t wait to enjoy Zion again with a child of our own!
Cultural diversity is important to the development of a well-balanced and accepting person. Every culture is important and should be respected. Both of us have lived in very ethnically and culturally diverse areas for more than 30 years. Our life experience has helped us to grow beyond our family’s backgrounds. This is part of the beauty of America. We have friends from around to globe including Belize, Nigeria, Sweden, Ethiopia, Korea and many other countries.
It’s important to teach a child to think about why certain cultural beliefs are valued. This will help them self-determine what their values should be and how to adapt to other people’s beliefs and behaviors.
Education lays the groundwork for a child’s future but, education is more than just reading and writing. Early education through social interaction will help with communication and emotional development. Preschool and kindergarten will help them develop skills for learning like attention, persistence, and self-regulation. Early education will also help them with cognitive learning, decision making, as well as an emphasis on creative expression including art.
There is a great school associated with our church. The school teaches preschool through eighth grade. Our church has a lot of after-school programs and affiliations with non-school organizations.
