Hi there! We are very excited to have you look at our profile and want to wish you love and support throughout your journey. We hope our profile helps you get to know us a little better. We are high school sweethearts and best friends who share lots of love and laughs. We cherish the life we've built together and cannot wait to add a child to the mix and grow our family through adoption.
We love college football, so on Saturday's in the fall you will likely find us in Maroon and Gold cheering on our favorite team from our season tickets seats. If it's a game we couldn't travel to, we are likely grilling burgers and watching the game from the comfort of our home with family and friends! We cannot wait to introduce our child to game day and all of the pageantry and family traditions that come along with it! If our team has an off week, you can find us with the rest of our family and friends grilling out and watching some of the big games for that week!
Outside of the fall football season, we catch the occasional baseball or basketball game, and spend as much time as we can with our alma mater! Sam is very involved in the Alumni Association and often participates in the events they host throughout the year. Michael tries to catch a game of golf or the occasional hunting or fishing trip with his buddies whenever they can coordinate the time together.
We also love movies and great TV! If we have open time, we are enjoying some quiet time at home and likely catching up on our latest TV show (recent shows have been Game of Thrones, Better Call Saul, House of Cards, and Big Bang Theory). Other than that, we spend a lot of time with family and friends, try new restaurants and travel every chance we get!
Family is the most important thing in our lives. Of course, we include our furbaby keystone and our dear friends in that "family" grouping! We believe that life is absolutely precious and we make a conscious effort to count our blessings and enjoy the every day small moments as well as the rare big moments that come along. We also believe in "paying it forward" and look for opportunities to help out a fellow coworker or give back to a student in need. We are both lifelong learners that value education. We both work very hard and take great pride in our work, but if ever there is a conflict, our family comes first. We spend most of our free time visiting with siblings, nieces and nephews, parents and grandparents, and close friends. We try to be there for all of the birthdays, holidays, dance recitals, plays, concerts, sports events, graduations, etc because in the grand scheme of things, we believe those are the moments that truly matter and that time is never wasted.
We have two really close friends that have completed their families through infant domestic adoptions. Sam also has family that have adopted internationally. We've been able to see the beauty of adoption as well as some of the hard parts. Each experience has been totally different and we've been there to support our families and friends and welcome their children into our lives every step of the way. In our circle, the birth families and prospective birth families are always talked about with the utmost love and respect. We want our child to always know how loved they are and to hear their birth families discussed in a positive light because their birth families are such a special part of their life.
We plan to be very open with our child about adoption. We believe strongly in open and safe communication and we will be there to guide them in any way we can, to love them, and to support them. Beyond that, their story is just that, their story. We're excited for our child because they will always have comrades with similar experiences that they can bond with and find support with in our friend's children. Adoption is a lifelong journey for all involved and having that built in support network and someone who just knows how you feel is such a beautiful gift and it's one that we absolutely cherish.
