Thank you for looking at our pictures! We're so excited to grow our family through adoption and we can't wait to be parents! We promise to surround our child with a loving family and community, to help them grow into the unique person God has created them to be. We are grateful and humbled that you would consider us!
We're excited to become a vibrant and colorful family through adoption and we have a beautiful community of people who are ready and waiting to support us. We live in a racially diverse city and neighborhood and we belong to a multi-ethnic church. Many of our closest friends at church are African American. We meet twice a month in each others homes to share meals and encourage each other on our spiritual journeys. Our lives are made so much richer by this group of friends! Our church also has ministries for children and students made up of White, Black, Latino, and Asian kids. These ministries successfully nurture strong friendships and spiritual bonds among these children. We know our church community will bless our child and be a safe and nurturing place.
We're absolutely committed to learning and embracing our child's cultural background, and making it part of our family's traditions and lifestyle. We believe it's important to have friends of ALL races, but it's also very important for our child to have friends and mentors who look like them! There are many excellent schools in our city where our child can grow in a positive environment and be inspired to see themselves in their fellow students and teachers. Our church, community, and our friends and family look forward to walking with us on this journey -- helping us be the best parents we can be and connecting our child to their heritage and who God has created them to be.
We had the crazy idea to run our first marathon in Rome, Italy! We trained for six months and had a lot of fun planning and preparing for the race. We supported each other through the highs and lows of training, including working through injuries along the way and running through the winter.
Running the marathon while taking in the sights of Rome was an experience like no other. There were people from all over the world, and even live orchestras playing music along the course. It was definitely challenging running on cobblestones in a city that's over two thousand years old! But despite the challenges, we made it through all 26.2 miles and stuffed ourselves full of delicious pasta to celebrate! It was an epic adventure we'll never forget.
We can't wait to plan future family adventures with our child. We believe world travel is very educational and good for the imagination, and we look forward to family trips abroad when our little boy or girl is old enough to fly!
Jonathan About Hayli: I love how Hayli loves to SING! She is a very joyful and loyal person. She has a soft spot for pets, sweet love stories, and kind people. Hayli is extremely adventurous and always up for a new challenge! I admire her big heart and generous spirit. I know she will be a wonderful mother and partner in parenting. I'm also excited to see Hayli teach our child music and the arts and how to be a kind person. She values relationships and family and is so warm with everyone in her life!
Hayli About Jonathan: Jonathan is the funniest person I've ever met! He is quick witted and always crafting a joke in his head. He creates so much laughter in our home and is the source of so much fun! Jonathan is also incredibly smart and creative, whether it is problem solving, programming or writing an iPhone app, or just drawing on a piece of paper. Jonathan is an extremely loyal and generous person and is always there for friends and family who need help. I look forward to watching Jonathan foster creativity in our child. I know he will be a loving and supportive father who will model integrity and generosity for our child.
