Thank you so much for reading our profile! We love being parents and nothing would make us happier than to add another child to our family! We will love your precious child with all of our hearts and provide to him or her a life full of love, joy and laughter! If chosen, you will help make our family complete and give us the most precious gift of all. You are in our thoughts and prayers as you make this difficult decision.
We love being parents and have struggled to have a second child for several years. We tried on our own to get pregnant for over two years then decided to see a fertility specialist. After several different protocols and three IVF procedures, our specialist explained that he had done all he could do. We were devastated. Our doctor suggested other options such as using an egg donor, embryo adoption and domestic adoption. After praying and learning more about these options, we knew in our hearts domestic adoption was the route we were supposed to follow to grow our family.
Adoption is not new to us. Chris’ parents adopted his sister, Marlene, when she was three years old. Soon after the adoption, his parents had Chris and they became a family of four.
Audrey’s cousin and her husband adopted a baby girl from China fourteen years ago. They already had two girls and felt called to International adoption. Their daughter, Emma, has been the biggest joy and blessing to them as well as our entire family. We can’t imagine our family without her.
Adoption is already a part of our lives and we are excited to experience it even more personally as adoptive parents! This child will have a family that will not only love them unconditionally but will have family members that can personally relate and understand their thoughts, feelings and questions regarding adoption.
Education is extremely important to us. Chris was a science and math teacher to 7th, 8th, and 9th graders for 2 years. He also served on the school board for 4½ years. Audrey has a health education degree and used to go into the area schools and educate students on various health topics.
Our community has a wonderful school district that strives to guide students toward educational excellence by providing a safe and positive learning environment. Audrey volunteers on the school’s Parents Teachers Organization, PTO, and loves supporting the school and teachers! Audrey helps in Emma’s classroom when they have special activities and helps plan her class holiday parties.
The community also has a wonderful private preschool that prepares children for Kindergarten and the elementary years.
We feel one can never start too early teaching their child and that children are born ready to learn. We worked with our daughter at a very early age at home mastering age-appropriate developmental milestones. We will always make education a priority for our children, however; please know we will do our best to guide, support and encourage them in whatever interests they may want to explore outside of school.
Our families’ favorite vacation spot is Destin, Florida! We went 6 years in a row before Emma was born and Emma has gone 4 years now. It is a place we look forward going to every year.
We love the beach and Destin has some of the most beautiful white sand. We love to build sandcastles and play frisbee on the beach. We also love the pools at the condo where we stay. We have been known to get caught up playing at the pool some days and never make it down to the beach.
We also love the restaurants in Destin! Louisiana Lagnappe has the best seafood, specifically grouper and shrimp. They also have the best hushpuppies you will ever eat! McGuire’s Irish Pub is another favorite which has steaks and nachos to die for!
When we need a break from the beach and pool we head to the outlet malls for a little shopping and ice cream!
We truly enjoy our time here as a family and cannot wait to share it with another child!
