We are thrilled for the opportunity to provide you with a glimpse into our lives and are thankful you are taking time to get to know us. We admire the strength and courage it must take to make this difficult decision. Please have faith that if chosen, we will provide a safe home full of love and laughter for your child.
Three years ago we decided to embark on a life-changing journey to grow our family through adoption. A year and half ago, one phone call changed our lives for the better. We met Luke’s birth mom the day before he was born and began a relationship with the woman who would forever hold a special place in our hearts. We spent time talking and getting to know each other, including hopes and dreams for this little guy. As we sat waiting to hear the lullaby over the hospital loudspeaker indicating a baby, our baby, was born, we prayed, hoped, dreamed about our new family. When the nurse brought him in, our hearts were immediately filled with joy! We have been in love with him ever since.
We still communicate with Luke’s birth mother through updates and pictures to let her know what a happy, healthy and loving boy he is. We admire Luke’s birth mother for the courageous decision she made and know it was with great love that she made that choice. We will be forever grateful for her role in bringing us our son and making us so happy.
We are excited about adopting again. We hope that our children will share a special bond because of their shared adoption experience. Siblings are a blessing to us and we pray our children will also be abundantly blessed by having one another.
We enjoy spending time at the beach, biking all over the island, visiting the local farmers market, taking part in festivals in our town (there’s at least 2-3 a month), spending time with friends and family, attending church and volunteering our time in our community. One of our son’s first words was ‘outside’ and boy, have we spent some time outside! Fortunately, there are a multitude of outdoor activities available to choose from!
On the days we choose indoor activities, we are content with reading a good book, playing games of all varieties, having dance parties and just goofing off. Leanne enjoys cooking while Mike enjoys eating what she has prepared.
We moved in to our current home about 5 years ago and have enjoyed working inside and out to make it our paradise and our perfect family home. And while Mike takes pleasure in working in the yard, Leanne enjoys relaxing in the peaceful oasis he’s created. Luke is content to be with Mom and Dad, trying to ‘help’ in any way he can.
Leanne loves that Mike can make her laugh at any time. He never meets a stranger and shows compassion like no other. He is humble and always puts others before himself. Mike admires that Leanne is so caring, unselfish and thoughtful. The needs of others always come first, and she gives of herself completely. Her sense of humor can make any situation better, and her smile and laughter light up the room. These qualities have never been more pronounced than when we became parents. Whether it’s in raising our child or watching him develop his own personality, we are more confident daily that God put us together for a greater purpose. While we have similarities, we believe what makes us a strong couple is our differences. While Mike is more spontaneous and easy going, Leanne likes to plan ahead and be organized. Both qualities combine to make us a well-rounded couple as well as parents.
