Hello! We are Beau and Keri. We are a young, laid-back, fun-loving couple from sweet home Alabama! After a three-year struggle with infertility, we decided to pursue adoption. We currently share our love with nieces, nephews, and godchildren, but now we are ready to become parents. We cannot wait to welcome a child into our home and share with them all the love, peace, and joy that is in our hearts.
We love taking the road less traveled, literally! We very much enjoy finding little adventures while hiking in the thick Alabama forests. We've thoroughly explored the local State Park, a historic Civil War battlefield! We've tromped around the forests near our home. We only occasionally get lost! Our biggest adventure was our honeymoon to Costa Rica in Central America. We had a blast zip lining, white water rafting, and rappelling down waterfalls while in the rainforest. We also had the opportunity to snorkel in the Pacific Ocean and hike on an active volcano! It was exciting to explore the countryside, to sample the cuisine, and to immerse ourselves in the local culture. We cherish our big and small adventures together. Adoption is our next big adventure, and we cannot wait to share our adventures with a new member of the family!
In our leisure time, we enjoy visiting with family and friends. We love going to dinner at friends’ houses or having them over at our place. Often, we play card or board games. Many of our friends have children, and we can't wait to start making play dates. We visit our best friends, who have two little girls, at least once a week. These girls will be like cousins to any child we welcome into our family!
In our down time, we enjoy just about anything that involves storytelling or adventure. At home, we like to watch television, movies, professional wrestling, and college football. We also enjoy reading, and we read to each other during long car rides.
When we go out together, it's usually to go hiking, boating, traveling, to the beach, or to live events.
We also volunteer at our church and in our community, especially at Engaged Encounter, a ministry that seeks to prepare engaged couples for married life.
We are very open about adoption and accepting a child of a different culture or ethnicity into our family. We know that whichever child we receive will most likely not look like us at all. One of our favorite saints, St. Therese of Lisieux said,
“The splendor of the rose and the whiteness of the lily do not rob the little violet of its scent nor the daisy of its simple charm. If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness.”
Diversity is beautiful. Everyone has different cultures, physical makeup, talents, interests, beliefs, etc, that make them who they are. We want to help our child become the best possible versions of himself/herself that he/she can be. That includes helping the child know and accept their heritage when the time comes.
