Cultural Diversity
We Love Living in Hawaii!

We both grew up in small town schools in Minnesota with very little diversity. As we went to college we were immersed in a bit more culture ,which sparked our curiosity to learn more!

We both worked at hospitals in Minnesota, but didn't feel we were getting the diversity we wanted to experience. We wanted to learn about others languages, cultures and traditions. This is when we made the decision to move to Hawaii. We have been introduced to so many new foods, stories, and traditions that we love to share with others.

One of the many reasons we love Hawaii is because family or “Ohana” is so important to people here. It's not just your immediate family, but the community is your ohana. We want to be able to have a child join our ohana and experience the amazing culture and love here. We plan to immerse our child in their race/culture, whatever it may be. We think it is important for them to know where they came from and why. Surrounding them with love is our number one priority.

  • Why We Chose Adoption
    With Tanner & Tenley

Growing up we both knew we couldn't wait to be parents. We both finished college, got married, tried to have kids of our own and found out it isn't possible. It was hard at first, but we are so thankful for the experience because it has led us down this path of adoption and we could not be more excited. We were both the oldest siblings in our families so a lot of our memories as kids was helping raise and playing with our younger siblings. When we were married we had close friends that had children and we became their temporary "Second parents" for 2+ years. We started watching Tanner when he was around 5 months old and we have been blessed to watch him grow. We got to be there for many of his firsts. We took him on his first boat ride, first time at the zoo, and first flight in an airplane. His sibling Tenley was born and we got to be there for her from the beginning. We feel so blessed that we got to help shape these children's lives in such a positive way. We love these kids as if they were our own. Having these children in our lives has shaped us into the parents we cannot wait to be. We have so much love to give and so much of Hawaii to share!
