Why We Chose Adoption
Holiday Family Traditions

Adoption is something that we have thought about for quite some time. We both always wanted a big family but like many couples, we never realized how difficult it can be having children. About six years ago, Jenna went into preterm labor at 22 weeks with our first child. Our son was born a week later, but unfortunately he was too small to survive. After several years of tests and trying with no medical reason or explanation for what happened, we were blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby girl. Watching our daughter grow has been an incredible experience and it wasn't long before we wanted to expand our family. Because of our history, we met with our doctor as we began planning for our next child and found that another pregnancy would be too risky to chance. Upon hearing this, we immediately thought of adoption. Even before we were married, we had discussed the possibility of one day adopting and this news made us feel that it was meant to be. We realized that there were other ways to grow our family and adoption is the perfect way to share all the love we have to give. We are so excited to begin this journey!

Leisure Time
Phillies Game with Best Friends

We love spending our leisure time together as a family! Back in high school, we started a tradition of planning surprise dates for one another. We especially love to travel to different vacation spots. One of Jenna's surprises for Ryan for our five year anniversary was a trip to Ireland to explore his Irish background! We would love to take our children back there someday! We also love to travel with our friends who are like family to us. We have taken trips to California, the beach and the Finger Lakes and can't wait to plan vacations with all of our friends and our children as they grow. At night we look forward to cooking as a family, walking our dog Bailey around the neighborhood, playing on the playground and all cuddling in our bed before bedtime. On the weekends we love to host friends for game nights, take our daughter to the local farm to feed animals, play at her favorite museum, attend community festivals and go to our favorite breakfast spot. Jenna enjoys any activity where she can use her creative side, planning fundraising events, or volunteering. Ryan loves to grill, golf with friends and watch every Philadelphia sports team as well as cheer on our alma mater, Penn State! Our family is all about creating memories and enjoying every opportunity to have fun with family and friends. We can't wait to share all of the fun activities we do with another little one!

How We Met
Dinner Date in the City

We met each other 17 years ago when we were both in high school. We went to different schools, but we ended up working at the same restaurant. Anyone who knows Ryan has heard the story many times. His cousin had recently gotten him a job at a restaurant and he was walking in for the Sunday dinner shift just as Jenna was leaving from training. She smiled and said hi as she passed and to this day, Ryan still can't remember if he was able to mumble a response. He rushed in to find his cousin and unsuccessfully tried to hide his excitement as he asked who the girl was that had just left, but it was obvious he was hooked. Even though it was several months before he finally asked her out, Ryan has always said he knew she was the one from the moment he saw that smile. Of course we were picked on quite a bit over the next few years and the family that owns the restaurant would always joke that we had them to thank for finding each other. Back then we would laugh about it, but turns out they were right. We still love to go back there to see them and have dinner at "our table."
