Gotcha Day

This is a day we'd been waiting for for 2.5 yrs.  We packed our diaper bag for the first time, boarded the bus with the other members of our group, and off we went.  Richard said "today you will get your babies."  I almost burst into tears.  My goal was to remain as calm as possible because I didn't want to scare little Cate.  We arrived at an office building, it was never really explained to us where we were going, or at least I didn't hear it.  Once we got off the elevator, we entered a room full of families that had just been united with their babies.  The excitement, the tears, the joy, the electricity was tangible.  We had all discussed filming/taking photos for each other as the babies were brought out.  The reality was different.  The babies were brought out very quickly and everything else just became static noise when Cate was brought out.  Our eyes met, I held her in my arms, that was it.  We were a family.
