Hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids are usually a result of constipation and are varicose veins that are enlarged, swollen and irritated in the rectal area. This often happens in pregnancy for the following reasons:
1. Constipation
2. Excess of hormones and pressure on the uterus which applies pressure to the rectum
3. Added weight
4. Going to the bathroom much more often
5. Anything in excess can lead to potential hemorrhoid issues such as: excessive standing, exercising, lifting of heavy objects, sitting on the toilet to long, etc…
Remedies and Prevention:
- Creams, medication, stool softeners all help ease any pain and or itching. They can also reduce the straining caused when trying to go to the bathroom which can often continue the annoying problem.
- See a doctor for immediate relief.
