Pelvic Discomforts
This discomfort usually begins to set in around the 8th or 9th month when there is the maximum amount of weight and water and pressure on the uterus, rectum and lower region of the body.
When the baby begins to drop down into the pelvic area (in preparation for birth) the discomfort becomes much more significant.
As the baby drops down into this area your hips are required to flex, which can not only be uncomfortable, but can also cause you to lose your balance. Be careful when walking around and especially when getting up from a seated position.
Remedies and Prevention for Pelvic Discomforts
- Get a pregnancy massage (see pregnancy massage).
- Lay with hips elevated to alleviate some pressure from gravity.
- Avoiding standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Stop exercising.
- RELAX!
- Should pain increase or seem unbearable, call your doctor Immediately.
