Stretch Marks
The majority of women who give birth experience stretch marks which have to do with the elasticity in skin. Some lucky women give birth without developing even one strretchmark, but the reality is that approximately 90 percent of women will.
Stretch marks can appear red, blue purple, silver or flesh-toned in color. While painless, many women cite stretch marks as a factor that can afftect their body image.
After birth stretch marks remain, but become significantly fainter and lighter.
There is no way to prevent this from happening although there are remedies to help from it worsening. /
Stretchmark Prevention and Remedies:
- Continuing a healthy, balanced diet.
- Drink plenty of water, which can assist in increasing your skin's elasticity
- Trying not to add weight to quickly.
- Lotions such as cocoa butter and Mederma can reduce the coloring and visibility of stretch marks.
