I suppose the appropriate place to start is with the little blue "plus" sign I read on the EPT back in July 2009. I didn't know what to expect, but I knew that my days (and nights) of being a carefree teenager had just come to an abrupt halt. I was 19. I was single. I was pregnant. This wasn't how I wanted a child to come into my life! I wanted a baby on my terms, and on my time. That time hadn't come yet. I knew right then that this wasn't my baby. This baby was going to make someone else's family whole.

It is with great pleasure that I share with you this story. Although it has been five years, my experience with American Adoptions cannot be forgotten. I cannot express how blessed I feel to have found an agency so genuinely sincere in their efforts to ease the process of adoption. And so, I write this in an attempt to express my gratitude.

I knew I wanted nothing but the best for my baby and that was to give him to an amazing family that can and will give him that life. Realizing that wasn't easy and I cried many tears of love and sadness but the night before I went into labor I had a dream of the adoptive parents playing with my baby boy. I could feel this overwhelming feeling of love and I woke up knowing my choice was the right one.

I changed at least three peoples lives for the better! Her adoptive parents, Steve and Adriana, and of course our daughter Emma. That is the most wonderful feeling, I can't describe it verbally. How often can you make a gift to someone that has such an impact. A forever impact! I love all three of them. I feel such love for her parents like they are my family now. I miss my daughter so much but I am equally proud of my choices. I look at those beautiful blue eyes of hers and wonder how anyone could consider abortion when after a little inconvience you could make such a precious choice. I couldn't be more proud of my life.

In December 2007, I was surfing the internet looking for information about adoption. I came across the American Adoptions website. The website answered most of my questions. I was even able to look at pictures and read a brief biography of families who were interested in adopting my baby.

I am proud to have given them the gift of life they always wanted.

On September 9th 2007 I found out I was pregnant with my second unexpected child. After my daughter was born I vowed not to have any more children so when I found out I was pregnant again I was devastated. My [now former] fiancé and I decided to make the best of the situation and I started making plans to keep the baby. As time went on though things didn’t seem to be working out the way I was planning. I started to panic, I didn’t know how I was going to raise two children and with the way things were looking with my fiancé and me it looked like I was going to be doing it on my own.

There is so much to say about my adoption story ... I am sure that I made the best decision possible for me and I wouldn't change a thing. I am now pursuing my degree as a Clinical Laboratory Technician and raising my daughter the best that I can.
