It’s an amazing feeling being able to do something so life changing for someone else. It also pushed me to want to make something better of my life. The adoption is open so when my son wants to make contact I will be able to show him his adoption story and where he was born. I will be able to show him that adoption not only gave him a great life but also helped me to make more of my life.

Choosing adoption for my daughter was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. However, I am grateful knowing that my child is loved and cared for by her adoptive parents. They can provide for her and give her everything that I wish I could have given her. American Adoptions also helped me by providing me with a place to live and the resources I needed to get back on my feet. I am very thankful to them for that.

The biggest gift I could ever have given myself and my child would be giving a couple a baby to complete their family; not because I had to but because I wanted to. Michelle and Dave are two of the most wonderful people I will ever meet in my entire life. Now finally, at the age of twenty, going on twenty-one, I know adoption isn't just giving a child away, it's much deeper than that. Adoption is love and a family combined into one. It means more than one could ever imagine.

Our adoption process went very well, and I love the two people who are raising my little girl.

I must say it is extremely hard knowing that you can't take care of your own child.

I like to think of my adoption story as more of a story of love and forgiveness. After much prayer I've decided that I have to tell the WHOLE story, not just the part about giving my child to the two most wonderful "strangers" I will ever meet.

I met the parents I chose for my baby the same day I had him. I knew right away that they were perfect.

I found the perfect adoptive parents not to long after moving down to the states. Clint and Adrienne, they had everything I wanted to give Barrett but could not do it myself. They had stability, careers, a home, no struggling to make ends meet and of course all the love in the world.

I finally made up my mind... I was going to be brave and sacrifice my own feelings and break my own heart so someone else can experience the joy of being "Parents".

I can't say enough how happy I am about how things worked out in the end. I loved Lauren enough to want so much more for her than I would be able to give her, which is why I chose to place her for adoption.
