Hi my name is Heather, I gave my baby up for adoption 2 1/2 yrs ago. It was truely the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. But, no, I do not regret it.

My story of giving my baby up for adoption has trails of long and complicated threads. Being able to give a baby up for adoption was an act of such selflessness that I admired in mothers of who I observed were going through such processes. But I never thought I could do it, or would do it ... and I guess I never knew who I really was in making such a determined thought seem like reality.

I plan on completing an Associate's Degree in Spanish, then transferring to a four year university to complete a degree in Education. With these two degree plans complete, I will have better comprehension in the secondary language of the region I live in, an be in a good position (by teaching) to possibly influence young girls and boys to make better decisions.

There are several reasons why we chose adoption, but I have to say that the greatest reason was we weren’t ready. That sounds so strange since between us we already had five kids. I was 22 years old, and both of my children were under the age of five.

Through American Adoptions, my boyfriend, David, and I were able to choose a wonderful family for our son.

I was 20 when I found out that I was pregnant. I was unsure of how my parents would react to the news. I was almost 2 months along when I got up the courage to tell them. They were more understanding and supportive than I could have ever fathomed...

I am 22 years old and about seven months ago I was faced with what was and probably will ever be the hardest decision of my life. October 12, 2003, is the day that my life was forever changed...

I wanted him to have more than I could have given him. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him and know that he will have a good life...

I would recommend American Adoptions to anybody who is thinking of doing what I did or who wants to adopt a child. They helped me out and still are helping me. The people there are really nice and supportive. They make you smile when you talk to them and they give you a lot of options that I wasn't aware I had.
