I had just turned thirty when I found out I was pregnant. I was already a single parent with three kids at home and about to have my sixth kid and I was scared. I knew I would not be physically, emotionally, or financially able to support yet another child. So I started searching the web for other options and I found American Adoptions.

I couldn't emotionally or financially support another child on my own. I struggled with making the decision about adoption.

I chose adoption because I became a single mom. My fiancée didn’t want a family anymore and I knew I couldn’t take care of two children on my own and raise them in a good environment.

After I graduated from high school I found out I was pregnant. My emotions were running in all directions and I couldn't think clearly. However, I knew I had some important decisions to make.

When I found out I was pregnant, I was only 18 years old and fresh out of high school. I realized I would not be able to care for this baby and I knew I had to take action.

I chose Pedro and Michelle because my heart felt that they would make great parents and when I met them they were exactly what I was praying for.

Their dad left me and he left them and I knew I couldn’t do it on my own.

It feels really good to tell you how much I love you.That is what made your adoption so special. I know now that Kim is the best mom you could ever have, and I needed that assurance to be able to surrender a precious little guy like you to her (and your father's) care.

I chose adoption because I couldn’t take care of another child financially, physically, or emotionally. A child is a lot of work especially if you are a single mother in a situation like I am.

I was sure that I could physically care for a child, but not mentally or financially. I knew that I couldn't keep my baby and abortion was just not an option for me.
